    It's funny because I spent this weekend cleaning out the gas tank of the hopefully-soon-to-be-lemoned Brava, and plugging in wires on my project Spider.


    I hope you didn't leave a 140mph speedo in that Spider, those things are rare.

    @Murilee Martin: I remember the "SLOW DOWN" light from the Wanky article. I couldn't find an explanation for it back then, but Google came through this time. According to [www.cardomain.com] it's a catalytic converter overheat warning.


    I knew it would be something weird, but that's completely out of left field. It really doesn't seem to address the root cause of the problem, either. I'm guessing the engine overheat light says "MOVE TO ANTARCTICA"?

    @ummagumma82: I'm pretty sure it's just a light that comes on at some set speed (55?), because the Fiats (and Alfas and Ferraris) that have the "Slow Down" light also have separate "Catalyst" warning lights.

    Now you are going to black out the word Fiat on the face of that tach. Wouldn't want to jinx the whole project. Maybe put a little horsey there instead.

    @Franzouse loves fireworks: At the yards in my neck of the woods, at least 80% of the, errm, migrant laborers get around in mid-90's Chrysler minivans that are a stiff breeze away from disintegration. They're the bread and butter of the local Pick-n-Pull; on any given afternoon or weekend there are at least two white Caravans with peeling paint and broken tail-lights in the parking lot.

    Great find! And on half price day too! You are reminding me that I need to go boneyard hunting, even though we almost never get any really fun stuff at the places near me in Georgia.

    @BTLFED does not has teh funny: Wiring Hell is going fine, although I'm probably screwing up by leaving a few inches of original Lucas wire going into the headlights and taillights.
