I bought a PSP for "God of War: Chains of Olympus".

I was considering selling it back to GameStop.

Now I will be hanging on to it until this games comes out.

Bravo Sony, you clever bastards. You win this round.

@Cognitive Friction: I've got Burnout: Legends (I think) for PSP and its pretty sweet, running other people off the road for fun is both helping me with my commute and keeping me from selling my PSP (until this of course)

If this game is the reason we haven't heard about GT5 in so long, I'm going to personally throw a brick at Sony's building.

@crespo: I think the PS3 is the main reason why we haven't heard about GT5 in so long. Seems like the bigger and more involved the game is, the more of a pain it's been for it to get made on the PS3. FFXIII is taking forever too, and MGS4 came out later than expected. By the time these games come out, no one's gonna give a rat's ass anymore.

It wasn't too bad on GT4 from what I remember... it just handled like a pig since it was so much heavier than all the other cars in that game... and underpowered. Yeah. That too.

NASCAR on Gran Tourismo 5, eh? Tell me, will I be able to drive a Hudson Hornet or Chrysler C300 on the old beach circuit at Daytona? Also, if I choose the Hudson, does it include a monkey mascot/navigator option? My inner Tim Flock wants to know...

@Ben Wojdyla: seriously, been waiting for a long time for that.

I remember Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit on PS1 having damage modeling. It was pretty good as I remember it, and it certainly made you drive differently knowing that you couldn't actually use the guy ahead of you as a cushion for the next corner, and that should you not line up to go through a tunnel or bridge properly at 150mph+, you will not be finishing that race.

    should be very interesting.

I do remember having some huge problems with GT4 after a certain point. Namely, finding out that the X button on the PS2 didn't provide the kind of 'granularity' in throttle control needed to properly drive a 700hp, rear wheel drive Ford GT.

@ThreeLitre: Totally agree. This will undoubtably change the game completely for me. I used to dominate on GT3 by just grabbing the Escudo and ramming everyone else off the track. The car never turned, but it ran like a cat that was being raped by its own burning tail in a straight line. So I would just dive straight into each corner, winning races to make money for more interesting cars. Because of that I was never really impressed by Gran Turismo...

Until I heard GT5 was going to have actual damage modeling, I was about to abandon the PS3 in favor of Forza.
