    In case anyone cares, a neighbor approached me last night and told me that he saw someone running away from the car when he got home @ 3am. I guess the plot thickens.

    Does the Fail relate to the shoddy maintenance or the choice of a clapped out F&F extra as his daily transport?

    Yeah, it's a F&F extra. You can tell by the neons, gay dragon tribal graphics and tons of gauges in addition to the horrible body kit. Get a life.

    All I can do is remember the video we had a while back of all the wheels coming off a rallycross car and think "this could be worse".

    Here's a shot of where it hit asphalt. It's the only place that I found aside from the front bumper where it hit.

    This is my beater/weekend autocrosser, now slightly more beaten.


    The back story is that we've had some interesting weather here in FL recently...30's at night, 70's during the day. I attribute that to at least a little bit of the situation. Last week, a local chassis fabrication shop had the wheels/brakes off and were measuring for a Wilwood brake caliper bracket and some groovy new hiem-joint tie rods as well. Usually, I don't let a soul touch my car but I was a guest in this fabrication shop. Ultimately, it was my fault for not double checking the lug nuts before departing and subsequently after 20 miles.


    Looking on the sunny side of life, anything that is bent will be replaced with something stronger. Good thing I have SPL on speed-dial.

    At least the fender is cheap...

    I wonder if he was using spacers and snapped a lug.

    No spacers were involved, all of the lugs are in-tact.

    This happened to me once on my old '83 Rabbit...only it wasn't the loose lugnuts, it was a rotten CV boot.

    I kinda like the fender cut-out scoop formed by the departing tire. Reminds me of a '54 Buick Skylark.
