    I was impressed with those Caddies when the first specs came out here. I haven't seen one on the road yet where I live but I'd like to. I'd like to own one too but I've got a better shot at a ratted out '62 than a CTS-V. #jalopnikvsgm

    @Ellomdian: Re-read my comment. You and I don't disagree, but 12 secs on a course this length isn't close at all. I would have expected an M5 to break 3:00. #jalopnikvsgm

    Let the whining begin:
    "but the Caddy costs so much more"
    "the track favors the Caddy"
    "An FQ could have beat it"
    "The weather wasn't perfect for the Evo"

    Face it people: The Evo is not as well built, comfortable, or well appointed as the V. And now it has been proven to be slower. The Evo is a hotwheels car, the V will go down in history as one of the best cars America ever produced. The fact that you showed up in a car that costs $20k less simply means you failed to compare apples to apples. Today, your "apple" got beat by an old man in a Cadillac #jalopnikvsgm

    I think the thing that surprises me the most about the outcome of this race is that Mr. Siler actually made it out alive.

    I bet Lutz had the AC on, cranked up the radio with some fifties music, knocked back some shots of scotch and wouldn’t even be surprised if he didn’t make/take a few phone calls and do some Blackberry texting to his cohorts, during what he probably calls his "downtime", while driving throughout the race. #jalopnikvsgm

    The Evo could outhandle but it was just completely outpowered. A Evo X FQ400 might have stood a chance. The Mazda Laguna Seca track is basically a ton of straights and very little winding. Completely favors the Caddy. #jalopnikvsgm
