Why? The cars are totally different. The Geely has amber turn signals, while the Roller has clear lenses. And, does the Geely have an umbrella buried in the door like the Roller? Doubt it. Case closed.
Now excuse me while I go finish my lemon chicken and chow mein.
Incidentally, they have a totally different slant on this over at Jaropnik. There's a zinger from Ashow78, and Glavelobber has a long tirade about the glory of the party.
@Analyst: There is a difference between "borrowing" design influences and blatant copying.
Also, we know China has lousy build quality, but nobody doubts that it won't improve in thirty to forty years. Japan improved greatly, as did South Korea.
This must be a hard call for RR. On the one hand, you've got to protect your brand. On the other, do you really want to acknowledge that a Chinese knock-off can come anywhere close to approximating a Roller?
@Alfisted: You don't have to go that far; you can show a deliberate attempt to copy appearance. It can still be a crap car; it is just dressed up to look like your car, and therefore undermines your car's value and rep while wrongly enhancing theirs. Like if I said I was Ash78 but my comments weren't near funny enough. I would cheapen his rep while trying to bogusly enhance mine.
BBC (Shanghai) Rolls Royce has just successfully sued Geely. Rolls Royce say the only thing they won in the trial was the booth professional standing near the Geely.

Look forward to the Geely Ever Watching Presence of Ancient and Venerated Ancestor.

The Geely GE is a "blatant copy." The A0 and the ET925 aren't.

As for the turn signals, it's a privacy issue. Do YOU want other people to know where you're going? I thought not.
