You could buy these Hyundai for your wife, and then you could keep the special credit card for yourself, and use it to fill up your 1967 Rivera that only gets 9 miles per gallon. How are they going to know which car it's being used for?

@Flathead Smith: When you buy your car you'll get a creditcard balance equal to the amount of gas: 12,000miles / EPA combine milage of the car you purchased.

Example #1: you buy a Tucson (EPA avg = 23mpg)
    12,000miles / 23mpg = 521gallons
    521gallons x $1.49 9/10 = $781.5

Balance on the card = $781.50, spend more than that and the card will be rejected.

Example #2: you buy an elantra touring (EPA average = 28mpg)
    12,000miles / 28mpg = 428.5gallons
    428.5gallons * 1.49 9/10 = $642.00

Thus the worse MPG car you buy - the more money you save from this plan.

@Chris P. Bacon: The worst bit is that you get half as much money as you would have from Chrysler...

And with this scheme, you would pay a buck forty-nine for the first year, based on this, because they'd be paying the other half (it's edging back up toward three).

I'm not sure you're right, but if you are, that is very poorly thought out on their part.

I read the blurry fine print. That's basically it. Holy shit, guys, come on. It's a shame you'd take more of a hit reselling a new Hai-oon-di than you would make on this plan...

You'd think they could have come up with a different picture.

Not available on the only Hyundai that I would want: the Genesis.

    Screw it.

Boy, that $2.99 gas deal Chrysler had last year sure sounded like a deal, huh? Now it'd just be a clusterfuck of taxpayer money involved, or something.
