In pick #8 there is a barely visible red convertible, looks like it might be an S2000.

Here is the quote from the construction company: "To put this incident in perspective there are 1,415 spaces in this deck," Russell said. "One section was involved, and it is estimated that approximately 35 spaces were affected.

@BaconSandwich: Judging by the number of timber braces they had to put up before they even let the firefighters in to look for any victims, I would say the whole thing is pretty much unsafe.

Tahoe, Camry, Accord, Element... no major losses yet... bit of a shame about that S80, I suppose... Focus with horrible rims, Escalade... Another beige Camry!...

But why couldn't it have taken out the new Sebring sedan several feet away from the collapse?!

Still, this is a net gain for enthusiasts.

Someone said it was built in the 1980s. If so, it was probably built slab style like L'Ambiance Plaza, which also collapsed.

CT outlawed this type of construction after the L'Ambiance collapse.

@e30m3: Pull-a-part on the south side is the best one. They usually have 2-5X the selection of E30s there. (check inventory online before you go) Sure it is in da hood, but that is part of the adventure.

I doubt that any of these end up at pull-a-part, too new.

@P161911 now with M POWER!: I know I've been to both and the reason I don't go to the south side one is cause it's in the hood and plus there's another junkyard right next to pull-a-part north called R and R and they usually have a good selection, they even had a e46 one time

The guy working on my 2002tii touring went to the south one to get some stuff for my car. He found an '02 with a quick ratio steering box. Paid $40 for the box, put it on Ebay and sold the damn thing for $1200!

@harrypr: I just missed a 4.11LSD for an E30 at the north pull-a-part, they go for $400+ on ebay, it would have been $60. I was there with a friend to help him get some parts for his T-bird. I came back to the little 325 and another guy was crawling under it for the diff. I got a 3.25 LSD for my 325 out of a E28 at the south yard for $60, they go for $300-400 on ebay.

I've considered a plan if I ever find myself really desperate for cash or unemployed (basically the same thing), you could get a decent cash flow pulling parts and selling them on ebay. I always check for oddball stuff when I go and grab whatever parts are easily removable and small enough to ship (old M-B steering wheels, etc.)

It's good to know nobody was injured. Also t looks like all the cars involved are pretty common, late models, no big loss either, assuming everybody is insured...

I wonder how long it will take to get all the cars out of there, including the undamaged ones that are (apparently) stranded above and beyond the collapsed section.

@Dwegmull, preview free since March 2009.: Considering the neighborhood that this is in, if your car is undamaged, the chances of anything valuable being left aren't too good either.

If your car is a pancake I imagine it would be a fairly easy insurance claim. But what would happen if your car was just stranded? You could be without it for weeks.
