WTF is going on over there? Why does every car coming out of Japan look like it was carved by a sushi chef on acid? Enough already with the stretched, sharp, carved, pointy, angular, exaggerated styling. There, I said it... #nissanskyline
Those look as if they could almost pass as old drawings of the concept for the current generation G coupe. The back is nearly the same (albeit in sketched concept style), and the front is not that far of a departure. #nissanskyline

Believe it or not, this isn't the start of Infiniti Canada's involvement with Cirque Du Soleil - I have a friend who spent a summer promoting the new FX at their shows in Calgary and Vancouver.
While this is not my cup of tea, I still appreciate the amount of work and talent that went into it. The link to Vlane includes a time lapse movie of the artist painting, yes painting, it onto the car.
It is no more obfuscatory than their original zen garden ads (the ones with a picture of a rock, for example), that made people wonder what the hell Infiniti was for.
Where's the pics of the door opening to the emergence of a couple dozen assorted Romanian, French, Tunisian, Cypriot, and Congolese midgets? Or is Cirque du Soleil too uppity for that kind of thing?
Nice review, Wes. Definitely some of your better work. And you managed to make me miss California in a way I haven't missed it in a while. Those roads up around Malibu and into Ventura county can be pretty fun.
I do take issue with the BMW 335i slam, though. It's grown on me, especially the 335. That ass end isn't as objectionable as I first thought.
Fine, I'll just come out and say it. I like the 335i and I have it pretty high up on my list of "practical" cars. There. I will probably be dragged into the central square and pelted with rotten tomatoes, but I can no longer hide my desire for that car.

Needs more gentle creek burbling noise, and the car really gets in the way!
/likely was at least half the nails in the Infiniti coffin (the first-gen Q was pretty cool)

I suppose this note is the result of thousands of hours of research into what makes an aurally pleasing exhaust note.
Oh, nice review, but you don't need to go all Elsa Koch on the fatties.

They're overwhelmingly competent, but lack the awesome that comes with a car.
It's the golden retriever or labrador effect. They're great dogs, which is why they're so popular...but it seems like everyone's got one.
