Full report below, plus one more shot of the FXX. UPDATE below!

Want to see the "shocking" "unmasking" of the Stig? Click here!

"I was at the top gear recording earlier on today for the first episode of the new series, and the Stig was revealed to be... Michael Schumacher!! this was very unexpected, but totally believable in the end. His full unmasking will be shown on BBC 1 on saturday at 9pm in the UK! attached are a few shots of his FXX which he was putting around the track. The rest of the episode is a interview with schumacher, a hot lap in the lliana and a race between a steam engine, a bike and a 1940's jaguar.

I hope this is useful!"

Yes, well, here's to hoping it's right! (Hat tip to Malcs!)

We've updated the story with comments off the record from BBC insiders here.

<![CDATA[Ferrari FXX Testing New Tech?]]> A camouflaged version of the successor to the Ferrari founder's vehicular namesake was spotted on public roads near the Maranello factory. Although the Ferrari FXX's already been revealed, it's the first time a camouflaged version of the limited-edition prancing pony's been caught with duct tape and vinyl covering parts of the front end. It's leading some to believe the Ferrari FXX may be making an Evolution beyond the original program end-date of 2008 to something more of a "mass" production version. We'll believe it when we see it. Until then, our guess is it's just out testing some new front-end aero-tech or some new engine re-tune. [OmniAuto via MotorAuthority]

<![CDATA[Say it Ain't Enzo: Ferrari Considering V8 Power for New Enzo?]]> While Audi is thinking about adding a couple of cylinders, the fellows at AutoWeek get confirmation that Ferrari is considering dropping a V8 in the next generation Enzo. The new version will be using technology developed in the FXX (pictured in Evoluzione form) and there's some question as to whether it's better to lose some weight with a turbocharged V8 or stick with a heavier, more powerful V12.

It's one of those questions that makes us a little more envious of Ferrari engineers than usual. Since the new Enzo isn't due until 2012, the company has plenty of time to develop both a new V8 and new V12 and decide later what engine goes where. If it ends up coming with eight cylinders it'll be the first V8 powered stallion supercar since the F40 graced the walls of our childhood bedroom. [AutoWeek]

<![CDATA[Party Like It's 2007: Ferrari Parade To Set World Record]]>

Chalk this up as yet another reason we'd like to live in Britain. To wit: Ever since Robert Earl Hughes was supplanted as the heaviest man in the world, we have not had much interest in the Guinness Book of World Records. However, the following interests us very much. Ferrari is going to attempt to set a Guinness World Record for – wait for it – the "largest parade of Ferraris." Which while utterly meaningless as a "record," is totally cool in every other regard. It's a three-day event which will include highlights such as an FXX just showing up, 60 identical race-prepped F430s in a shoot out, and of course the event closest to our Jalopnik hearts, the Ferrari Shell Historic Challenge. Yep, they are going actually race Ferraris from different decades against each other. Hence our favorite video up top. (Re)Enjoy.

<![CDATA[Lap Dance: Track Day in a Ferrari Enzo FXX]]>

Aside from apexing a bit too close to pit road at times, and one inadvisable one-handed burn through the straights — while searching for a cameraphone to hand over to the passenger — this young viscount handles his Ferrari Enzo FXX quite deftly. According to a tipster, the track could be Rijeka in Croatia. The sound alone is worth a million bucks. [Thanks to Barnaby for the tip.]

<![CDATA[Looking For Mister Goodcar: La Carrera's Unlimited Class Seeks FXX]]>

So we were yammering with Haller too late at night, and as late-night yammering between car guys often ends up, ridiculous ideas spring forth. On the spot, he decided to offer free entry into La Carrera Panamericana's Unlimited Class to any hombre with cojones enough to subject his Ferrari FXX to the Mexican endurance test. And here's a note to the kids over at the Scuderia: if you boys want data, here's a way to gather it. The invite is open. All you have to do is get your car to Mexico.

Reschedule the meetings and cue the Ennio Morricone, wealthy men. It's time to to rock your own spaghetti western and mix it up with plebes of lesser estates and other exotica fans alike. Are you true Ferraristi, willing to take on all manner of comers as Il Commendatore intended, including ridiculously-prepped Subies? Or are you simply vegetable-chewing pansies with too much money? Pony up, sirs. Besides, when will you ever get to drive your FXX this far again?

The question concerning the Ferrari FXX. [The Unlimited Class]

<![CDATA[Ferrari FXX Ride-Along]]>

Lucky bastard Michael Bettencourt of ForbesAutos got a chance to ride as a passenger on a few hot laps of Mosport Raceway in an unnamed owner's Ferrari FXX. The 800hp, 2,500-lb ber-Enzo apparently dished out the punishment like a pre-menstrual Zsa Zsa Gabor in a leather corset, prompting Bettencourt to comment, "I was already wondering what I had said wrong to deserve this automotive flogging. Even with me bracing myself as much as I could, my neck, legs and hang-on arm tingled like wobbly Jell-O after the car was shut off." G-forces are a bitch. Just ask John Stapp

<![CDATA[Jalopnik Late Night: Ferrari FXX On The Track]]>

A bit of a disclaimer for this vid. The first few seconds are just still photos but don't fret the track action starts soon after with sound. That glorious semi-roar of a finely-tuned Ferrari is just unmistakable and sounds so F1-ish even we're impressed. 800+ horses take this baby to post-Enzo heights and the raw video is just fun to watch for the car obsessed.

<![CDATA[Detroit Wrap Up: Ferrari FXX]]>

Ah, tis the Dark Lord, luxuriating in Ferrari's display at the Detroit auto show — looking like Satan at a really nice restaurant — its 800 hp and 508 lb-ft of torque at rest within. Yes, it's the Ferrari FXX, that non-street-legal super Enzo with the overbored V12 and F1-grade transmission, a plaything and Darwin Award medium for only the most well of heel ($1.8 million samolians, Jack). Don't look him directly in the eye. He hates that.

<![CDATA[Who Needs an FXX When You Can Have a Pinto?]]>

Bumbeck just tipped us off to a sweet little orange Pinto wagon on Craigslist in the LA area. We figured it was an appropriate antidote to all of this "FXX on eBay" hysteria that's going on. Apparently, the timing chain quit the team, but for 1200 bucks, how can you really go wrong? The thing's just dying for a 347 stroker motor to turn it into the ultimate white-trash drift machine. And yeah, the faux-wood paneling's pretty much mandatory unless you're gonna give it a psychedelic '70s Himsl & Haas-style paint job with lots of marblizing.

<![CDATA[First Enzo, Then Super Enzo: More FXX Test-Track Footage]]>

Ah, to sunbathe in the infield at Fiorano, taking in rays while the sonorous wail of Ferraris of different configurations and displacements gradually destroys our hearing, frequency-range by frequency-range. Here's a downloadable movie (40 megs, so fire up your broadband, childrens) that features a couple of horses prancing about. First, we've got an Enzo repeatedly hanging its ass out upon exiting a corner, and then it's time for the big gun the FXX. At idle, the thing almost sounds like a musclecar, but when the hammer drops, it's pure racing machine all the way through.

<![CDATA[The Dark Lord's Enzo on eBay, Five Mil and Counting]]>

The FXX may well be the result of a South Park-esque coupling of Enzo Ferrari and Lucifer. Fast, ugly and mean, the non-street-legal beast makes no pretense of being anything but a super-quick toy for the super-rich. And anyone who's soul is worth over five million US dollars has a crack at acquiring one on eBay right now. For that price, a more-than-fair dollop of rum, sodomy and the lash had better be included. The 'heads over at Pistonheads procured some shots of Ferrari's new super Enzo, the 800hp FXX, as two of the models were being readied for a good flogging at Florence's Mugello Circuit. The cars are likely being track tested to make sure all the kinks are ironed out before they're delivered to their ultra well-heeled owners, wherever in Switzerland their money may be. <![CDATA[FXX Debuts at Bologna]]>

Ferrari's ber-Enzo, the FXX, made its debut at the Bologna Motor Show last week, and slack-ass us just got around to reporting it today. The car laps Fiorano in 1 minute 18 seconds, pumps out 800hp, and is pretty much the ugliest thing Ferrari's ever built. It's not road legal, but for your 1.5 million euros, you get a fair amount of track time with the car, including an advanced driving course at Fiorano, if that's any consolation.

The boys at Dubspeed Driven found a video of Ferrari's super-Enzo, the FXX, being tested at Monza. The video stream quality is a tad on the shaky side, but the music of that V12 being wrung out comes through like high-def audio. [Thanks to CJ for the tip.]
