These days, paddle shifters are on everything from hatchbacks to luxury sedans. But not so long ago, they could only be found on certain exotica and racing cars. Some love 'em, but a lot of enthusiasts would rather have a good ol' fashioned third pedal and a stick. So who do we have to blame for this virus of sequential gearboxes? The man at fault may very well be the Sultan of Brunei. Back in the early '90s, his specially-designed Ferrari FX was the first road car to use a modern paddle-shift setup.

Aussie Wants $1.2 Million For Holden FX #46, We Choke On 'Roo Burger

It's one thing to sell an exceedingly rare and beautiful car for a big pile of cash, but what about just a rare car? Nobody is going to mistake this 1948 Holden FX — one of only 112 sold, and one of three thought to still exist — for any kind of concourse winner. It's just plain fugly in our opinion, but as they say, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. 2009 Infiniti FX Spotted Testing In The Wild

Someone over at AutoWeek.nl just happened to be in the right place at the right time to catch photos of a mostly uncamo'd version of what good sense says is the 2009 FX. The next generation FX will likely be offered as the FX37, with with a 300+ horsepower version of the VQ. It's rumored that the FX50/FX55 will get a new V8 good for nearly 400 horsepower (and displacement of either 5.5 or 5.0 liters). According to information gathered last March, there are many new toys due for the next generation FX, including adaptive slow cruise control. More »
