    I've said it many times here that I wouldn't want to own any current Porsche save the GT3 RS or GT2. This is further support of that position.


    I would much rather own a mint 914 than this piece. Maybe even a 924 GTS. Definitely a 73 S or an 87 Carrera.


    There are plenty of alternatives to this car which don't mark the driver as a brand-whoring d-bag. The Quattroporte and S8 (or A8 MTM) come to mind.

    It's not my cup of tea. I won't buy one.

    It doesn't fulfill my expectations of Porsche.

    Then again, neither does the Cayenne.


    But Porsche never ask me about their upcoming cars.

    I have a feeling that my objections are therefore academic.

    at first when the spy photos came out I hated it but I actually think it looks pretty good now, not so sure I like the C pillar, they should have taken design cues from the Mercedes CLS rear windows, make a sharp point.

    I prefer to keep my final opinion. I want to se it in the flesh first and drive next. But, from what I can see now, from my experience with Porsche products.... I'm pretty sure I will be wanting one badly.

    Porsche does not care what you think, they will sell them anyways. That seems appropriately German.


    And the more I let this sink in, the more I love it. I can deal with the styling - any 911 built from about '74 to '94 is just an awkward, unattractive car. I still wouldn't kick it out of bed, and the same goes for the Panamera. And, as much as I'd like this to be rear-engined, it barely makes sense in the 911, let alone something that's supposed to be practical. The only thing that bothers me is how much it'll weigh (I'm seriously hoping they can get it under 4000lbs). So, what we're left with is a seriously Bruce four-door hatch powered by a stonking V8. That formula is the essence that goes into sheer win.


    Plus, it's not a fucking Cayenne. That's an automatic bonus.

    You're right, it's horrible. A slippery, sleek looking sedan with 911 design cues, and up to 500 horses stampeding through the rear tires. A sumptuous, luxurious interior, plenty of room for your friends, and enough get-up-and-go to turn ten-inch-wide tires back into the liquids from whence they came. And on top of that, it gets a great sodding big hatchback so it's actually usable and convenient.


    And, let's face it, if there's one thing Porsche does better than anyone, it is to attain far more VAG than anyone ever thought possible.


    Therefore, since it's such a horribly awful car, I will volunteer to selflessly take them for myself, and make the sacrifice of having to put up with envious glances, total dominance against virtually any other car on the highway, and more play than a Nintendo Wii. No, don't thank me, just pass me the fucking keys already.

    You know, I want to like it. After all, it's a Porsche, and they're always entertaining. It's not an SUV, and that's a good thing. Lastly, it's in a category that is pretty irrelevant to my current station in life, so it doesn't really matter what I think of it.


    But still, I find it hard to get past its full-boweled visage. Why'd they have to make it appear so . . . impacted? To that end, I call indifference.

    I'm kinda pissed at Porsche right now. I mixed up a fresh gallon of Haterade just for this post, and now I find I actually like the lines of the car. I think carrying the greenhouse back to the rear and making it a wagon would improve the looks quite a bit, but it's very easy on the eye as-is. Oh well, would anybody like a free glass of Haterade before I pour it down the sink?

    I'm sick of all these obnoxious "four-door coupe" pseudo-sports cars. Just buy a damn sports sedan!


    Why would anyone walk past an RS6, an E55 AMG, an M5, a CTS-V and a Quattroporte for this?
