    Well, that wonderful Six will have to be federalized for emissions, and not just once. If you want an Automatic, once; Standard, twice; All Wheel Drive? third; Turbo? fourth; And each certification takes a lot of money.


    Let's add the costs of certifying it for California on top of that.


    How about crash standards? They have to be certified as well, Front, Side, rollover, and it would take a lot of money to do this as well, since Ford has to certify it with Left Hand Drive.


    Then it has to be certified for Fuel Economy Standards because it will be lumped into Ford's Import Fleet CAFE numbers.


    Is it any wonder they don't import these, because the average American (not the "expert blog readers") prefer their cars as appliances. So they will sell, what, maybe 15,000 of these cars? Not a dollar will be recovered in the certification of these cars at these numbers.

    @leavethegun-takethecannoli: Cool fucking cars that don't sell. I read that the Mazda3 was the biggest selling car in Australia in Jan, and Mazda sold more cars than Ford.


    That's why there are rumours about the Falcon being replaced with either the Taurus or the Mondeo when it needs updating.
