You know what's ironic? If he'd been in an illegal street race and had plowed into a wall, his insurance would've covered it.
Since he's responsible and "takes it to the track" he gets screwed. Take that as a lesson, kiddies, keep your drag racing ILLEGAL AND ON THE STREET WHERE IT'S COVERED BY INSURANCE.
@IH_kumicho: Pretty much, eh. I get the feeling more and more that they really don't want us to "take it to the track" but rather "take it to the crusher" and abandon racing all together.
An avid NASCAR fan, the driver was caught off-guard when the track failed to turn left in front of him. Startled, he overcompensates, and hits the right wall.
Was that a pinto wagon in the far lane? It sure looked like one, or possibly a Vega wagon.
Either way, bummer for the mustang driver, doubly so because his insurance isn't going to cover him since he was racing, and will probably cancel any other auto policies he has with them.
@MountainDrew: that's seems unlikely to me. I'd say from the video that it looks more like something in the front end (maybe a tie rod?) breaks and causes him to jam on the brakes while the car steers itself into the wall. That'd be my guess.
@Daniel Parmelee: Most of the people debating on on Streetfire seem to think that the front drivers tire blew out, causing the spin. Thats possible, but so is mishifting.
