    With the leaps in technology and power, this doesn't seem like a fair comparison on the surface...but it does look fun.


    I feel like a 2020 Toyota Camry V6 will get 40mpg and be able to dust both of these cars.

    @LuciferV8: By 2020 there will be no steering wheel or pedals in the Camry, just a mattress and pillow. Yes it will be devilishly fast but it will be in such a dreadfully boring manner that in studies no human could remain conscious.

    By the way, this year marks the 50th anniversary of Ferrari 1st win at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Luigi Chinetti, who drove a mind-boggling 23 hours, 40 minutes, and Lord Selsdon...who bought the car and did a quick mid-race test drive.....won in a Ferrari 166 Barchetta.

    I much prefer the F50 over the F40, but I'd rock both given the chance. The Enzo is near the bottom of the list in order of Ferraris I want from most to least if only because it is hideously ugly.

    Oops, forgot to add...I think the F50 is one of the most beautiful Ferraris ever made. Definitely the most beautiful of all modern Ferraris and it definitely puts up a good fight for most beautiful (Ferrari) of all time!

    Kind of a fun comparison, but not one surprise in it. But then pr0n is rarely surprising, either.


    OK, anyone hold an opinion that makes you feel like the only sane person in the asylum? With all the poster car talk lately, I just can't help but note again how gawdawful ugly the F40 is. Don't get me wrong; its engineering alone makes it one of my all-time favorite cars, but I am truly baffled that anyone thinks it's good looking. Just look at it there next to that 430. It's Frankenstein's monster talking with Safie. Set it next to an F50 or an Enzo or, frankly, any other halo car from Ferrari, ever, and it just looks flat terrible.

    Super-cars today are still copying design elements of the F40.

    @snapoversteer: No, I agree. The F40, while incredible, is terribly unattractive. But, cannoli is right-- 20 years ago, it might not've looked so bad. Then again, 1987 wasn't exactly a banner year for car styling.


    Also, the Countach is ugly, too.

    @everyone: Let the kid be.

    He stated that the F430 was his favorite, and gave a reasonably fair answer to why: he just plain likes it better. As Jalops, we should realize that sometimes, there just isn't much more to it than that. He's also been pretty sporting.

    1. It's engine bay won't catch on fire for no reason.

    2. You won't be required to wear Oakleys to drive the F40.

    3. The F430 doesn't occupy a place in your imagination.


    Look, I really like the new Scuderia. It's amazing. I would take one in a heartbeat. But, if given the chance I'd take the F40 every time.
