When I worked at a retail pet supply store in hs, the back of the lot was where the employees parked. You REALLY didn't want to park a nice car there.

Being a store where pets were welcome to enter, we typically had a lot of dog SH*T on hand... We also had a rabid hatred for people that couldn't figure out how to park between the lines.

I wish I had taken pictures...

Oh... and don't forget the deer musk in the climate control intakes...

Damnit. If only I had seen that, those farrari drivers wouldn't have been able to get into their cars through the driver side door. Though the image above is of a cavie I had some time ago, My golden rule still stands today (and has been implimented as reciently as last week):

If you can't figure out how to park within the lines, don't expect to get into your car via the Driver's Side door.

Don't get me wrong. I love to keep door dings away from my suburban, Turbo Neon, WS6 Trans Am, and PT Cruiser and often park at the back of the lot.

Something about not staying within the lines however... the guy in the vette above even ran into the store he came out of (a home depot) and had them intercom "the guy with the white chevy cavie". I enjoyed watching him steam.

I just noticed the New York Plate on one of these cars. Must be in Westchester County, where the idle rich play with their expensive cars, lounge around in their 80 Room Garrison Colonial, and jet around in the company provided private plane, while the people under their feet toil enough so that these pompous, pampered, princes can do what ever they want, without consequences.

I have been seriously disabled since 1988 (military) and am one of the few truly vocal persons when it comes to sh*t like this. I rather enjoy using my best drill Sgt voice at full volume to berate people like this. Childish? Perhaps. Earned? Absolutely. Had I been at this golf course I would have waited half a day just to lower the boom on these schmucks.

Hey, maybe this is a private country club, and these guys are all on the board, and as such, they happen to know for a fact that none of their 400 members are handicapped, and that those specially-designated spaces exist simply due to the fact that they are required by law to have a certain amount of handicapped spaces just to be ADA-compliant, and...

...nah, they're just asshats.

@HoonThatFerrari: my condo complex is like that. We have 2 handicapped spaces because it is required by law. These are 3-story townhouses. Someone in a wheel chair would have to stay in the garage of the house...

@jaydez: Well, if we employ logic, it could easily be surmised that it's entirely conceivable that any given residents of your complex who were not handicapped, could have visitors who were handicapped, hence an actual practical use for said handicapped spots.

Also, are you certain that at least one of those units there isn't ADA-compliant, sporting wider bathrooms with rails, lower light switches, higher electrical outlets, and with a chairlift inside? I obviously don't know the configuration of your complex, but are there outside stairwells so that you'd know this at a glance, or do they have ground-floor entry doors with inside stairwells? If it's the latter, what I just suggested could indeed be the case! Some municipalities require a certain percentage of any post-ADA apartment/condo complexes to be ADA-compliant. Older properties can sometimes be grandfathered in, so again, in your case, I don't know... just posing the question.

@Ian Wish: Actually, a lot of people who golf are older and have heart conditions that prevent them from doing too much walking (so they use the golf carts). These people often have handicap permits.

Handicapped parking spaces at a golf course? Yeah, that makes a lot of sense. I'm sure there are lots of crippled guys playing golf there all the time.

If a guy in a wheelchair is independent enough to golf in a wheelchair, isn't an insult to save the closest parking spaces for him?

@goatrope: Not all conditions that qualify one for a handicap permit are readily visible or would necessarily prevent you from playing golf with a cart.

@roaduscarnivorous: There is a guy that lives around me that drives a newer Ferrari and a brand new 4 door M3, and he can barely walk. I've seen healthy individuals have trouble getting out of Ferraris, so watching this guy with a leg that barely moves try to get out of it was hysterical in a "I know I shouldn't be laughing" kind of way.

Technically, they're not in the handicap stall. One's in the loading area adjacent to the stall and the rest are in the clear. Only half douchey, but hey, if they have the money for those cars, somehow I doubt a ticket is going to put a wrinkle in their day. The tow guy could probably halfass his way into another chapter of Save the Enzos, though.

@JalopyPixellatedViscera: Technically, they're both in the same handicapped spot. The loading zone (clearly marked "NO PARKING", BTW) is part of the same handicapped spot that the F50 has one wheel in. It doesn't matter that it's only one wheel, because you have rendered the spot useless to the people it has been provided for.
