We just received a full load of pictures of the steamy and dreamy 2009 Ferrari California. Ever since the new Ferrari GT made its well-planned debut, we've been slowly digesting the few images we've seen, hungry for more like them. In full, high-color, close-up, car-pr0n detail, we're now treated to views of the new Ferrari from every conceivable angle and all sorts of interior and exterior details. For instance, the steering wheel is pure sex and the gauge cluster has a slick monitor off to the left which details all kinds of fun driver information. We're even able to see the car has a dedicated "launch" button. This, we like. But were we pleased about everything we saw?

2009 Ferrari California, Revealed!

Ferrari welcomed us all a little bit early to the Hotel California, and yes, it's a lovely place. In fact, check out the lovely face on the new 2009 Ferrari California just to see if we're wrong. Despite being told we'd need to wait at least another week before shots would officially go live, the prancing stallions at Ferrari have revealed three press photos of the new Ferrari that's been alternately called the "Ferrari GT," "Ferrari California GT," "Ferrari Dino" and "Ferrari Little Tiny One" in the spy photos. OK, maybe not that last one. But the rest of them are accurate. Whatever we used to call it in the spy photos, it's now set to take on a bit of West Coast flair. We'll be pleased as punch to see it in person in Paris later this year. For now, check out the photos below and press release after the jump.

When Enzo Ferrari turned down Bill Harrah's request for a 4x4 Ferrari, Harrah did what any wealthy car collector would, thumbed his nose at Maranello and built his own. Taking a 1969 Jeep Wagoneer and mating it with a Ferrari 365 GT, the Jerrari was born. While its original 4.4L V12 is long gone in favor of a far more reliable 350 V8, the weirdly attractive bodywork and handsome interior are still all there. Not only is it in impeccable shape, it's up for auction on eBay.

Ferrari F149 Dino California GT Thingamacar Caught Without Crazy Rear Camo

Despite the deadline for the really real pictures of the new Ferrari F149 (or Dino, or California GT) being supposedly only days away now, new shots have surfaced showing the true shape of the car. Now we're getting somewhere, we can see the tail end drops off with a very Berlinetta-like gusto and the overall shape reminds of the Maranello, though much smaller. The camo also suggests a fairly large radiator intake and two smaller intakes for something down low below the headlights. Very interesting Ferrari, this small GT thing you're working on has got potential. (h/t to Ard-Jan)

Ferrari F149 Makes Photographic Debut... in Two Weeks?

The rumor mill has been churning at full froth lately over a possible new model from the shops of Maranello and Modena. One set of reports calls it a Ferrari Dino, another calls it the California GT and as of late, the third option is the Ferrari F149. Whatever it ends up being, Topspeed is reporting images of the new car will hit the web in just two weeks time. This means some outlets must have embargoed pictures — which means we'll probably be showing you shots later today after somebody jumps the gun and spills them all over upon seeing a story up saying the words "Ferrari F149." We all know how itchy those trigger fingers can become. But until then, we'll just have to be content to peek again at the spy photos of the Ferrari F149 / Dino / California Dreaming / Whatever and the knowledge that something is on it's way. We think.

Info like that flies in the face of suspiciously Ferrari Dino-shaped cars on dynos and today's fresh Ferrari mule running around a test track. World Car Fans is running a spy photo of what is either a shocking new shooting brake, or a very heavily camouflaged Ferrari. Is There Such Thing As Too Much Power?

OK, so the next RS6 will be cranking out in excess of 600 horsepower. And we're stressing excess. We've driven tons of hot metal, and can testify that when power output reaches about 500 HP, things get weird. The Shelby GT500 is a blast, but sketchy. The new Viper SRT10 is plain old homicidal. The Z06 is faster than basically anything yet manages to remain fairly compliant — although we've no idea how it's like when you reach the power limit of the big Vette. OK, most current AMG products make around 500 horses but they have several banks of Cray supercomputers keeping your bacon saved. Ferrari's F430 "only" generates 483 HP, yet I'm still in therapy for post-traumatic stress syndrome more than a year later. And I was but a passenger! Can you even imagine a 600+ horse RS6? We're not sure if we're thrilled or frightened. You?

Steve McQueen 1963 Ferrari 250 GT Berlinetta Lusso Sells For $2.3 Million At Christie's Monterey Auction

The man known most for piloting a Mustang just had his old 1963 Ferrari 250 GT Berlinetta auctioned off last night at the Christie's auction last night at the Monterey Jet Center, one of the many events that make up the hoopla surrounding this weekend's Pebble Beach Concours. The Ferrari, expected to go for somewhere in the neighborhood of $800,000 to $1.2 million ended up fetching $2.31 million. Although in no means is this a record of any sort (unless you count it as a record for a 1963 Ferrari 250 once owned by Steve McQueen) our estimates peg the selling price to have been...really high. Herr Roy Goes to E-Town

During Alex Roy's long association with Jalopnik, we've come to regard his M5 as something of a piece of folk art; a snot-beat, pricey machine that's likely done more of what it was designed to do than just about any other E39 built. Herr Roy, of course, is a showman, and while his steed of choice is generally considered one of the finest cars of the last three decades, it's still a seven-year-old blue sedan. But somehow with the addition of antennae, stickers and Albanian goat-track dust, it becomes something else. It's almost a parody of the CSL Batmobiles in a way, but just as deadly in its own right. Alex and our pals Jeff Musical, Emil Rensing and Rob Ferretti took the M5 and a few other chips of the Bruce block down to Englishtown for the VW/Audi show at Waterfest over the weekend.
