Well, I'm young enough, how about we compile my wish list, while were at it.
Dear Santa,
For Christmas I have a few ideas. First I really want a V1 Radar-Detector, preferably hardwired. I'd like a Gruppe M Ram-Air intake, or any high-quality intake that will fit on a 330i will do. It would be great if you could hook me up with an
M-Tech front, side skirts, rear diffuser, carbon fiber splitters and cf spoiler. And if your feeling particularlly generous, toss in some BBS CH wheels (matte black power coat please, Santa). And one of those Lancia t-shirts, since your going to be here anyways. Thanks so much Santa,
Lil Schm
Funny, as we get older, our Christmas lists generally get more expensive and, uhm, in my case, un-attainable.

When I was in grade school, someone in my family got me a script to Road and Track. I never paid for it until I was like 18 or so. Now I'm 31 and am obsessed.
I don't have any crumb-crunchers yet but I know this little kid named Timmy, he's like 6 or so. One day he asked me if I like Porsches or Bimmers more. I knew that it had come full circle.
I always try get my son a car-related toy for Christmas to help in-grain the Car Freak Disease.
Though I've found the best way to invoke the Gearhead factor is to get him out in the garage with me to "help" when I'm working on a car. Even if he is just holding a flashlight so I can see, it always sparks tons of questions about "whats this do? whats that do?" etc...
@Bertone77: that comment made me smile. It's true. My dad did the same stuff with me, and now i'm a Tech Editor here at Mitchell International, writing software used by car shops/body shops/insurance companies.

For me, it was this that sent me over the edge. Or maybe I was already over the edge and gravitated to it because it was there too. I don't know. Either way, you'll know you've done it right when your kid catches you trying to skip pages because they've memorized the book.
Of course, I'd be remiss if I didn't acknowledge Hot Wheels, and that Corvette driving game with the pop-up headlights (that's something the children of today are missing out on, that might impede their development in to the hoons of tomorrow).

Not for the calorie counter or health food nut with OCD. Besides, a little fresh air will do you good before you go back to the show for Round 2.

Best holiday gift for your kid?
Quality time while getting your hands greasy.
Cost: Parts you need to fix anyway.
Value: Priceless.

Go gearheads.

When I was married I did the same with my middle stepdaughter (the other two were girly-girls). Have to keep important traditions like that alive.
