I can't but help to wonder if they will broach the subject of her well known arrogance in this film, or if they will simply gloss over it to help keep her heroic image in check.
I think it's great to do a biopic about Amelia Earhardt, but I have a strict "no Richard Gere" clause in my theater expenditures. Looks like I'll be adding this straight on my Netflix queue.
I was just mentioning this to my wife...whilst standing in front of an Annie Oakley exhibit. Annie Oakley and Amelia Earhart are definitely two dames that need more (non-comedy/non-musical) movies made about them.
I wonder if she was eating at the wheel when she vanished over the Pacific. (Yes, the Lockheed Electra had a wheel, so don't nobody control-column/joystick me).
It's about time. Amelia Earhart is one of the most fascinating stories in aviation. Aviation buffs (mostly men) will be all over this for both the subject an Hilary Swank. The women's lib chicks should be all over this because it promotes their movement. Unfortunately, they'll still have to include a sappy love story to draw people like my wife. Unless it's a lesbian love story (to keep the women's lib chicks interested), it will probably ruin the movie.
I can hardly wait for this one. Coming from a family swarming with pilots and aircraft nuts, this naturally appeals to me, but not just that, as this has promise to actually be a good film to boot.

She's quite the workhorse...just stick a yoke in front of her and watch her toil.
