    I've seen a couple of engine pull competitions at VW meets. Two guys, elbows flying and the engine's on the ground usually in under 60 seconds. All hand tools, and unlike these guys, they're starting with a car that has no prep work on it - for instance, the hood doesn't just pop off. #fordescort

    Sure, it's mostly fake but the coolest part is how they pull the guy out from under the car---that saved a lot of time. I guess they don't have creepers in old Blighty. #fordescort

    I cry foul. Didn't see any coolant lines, fuel lines or exhaust being hooked up. I'll bet those CV bolts were suspect as well. #fordescort

    @five_on_ninetyeight: That and I don't think the hood would stay on at more that 10mph. There seemed to be some special fittings on the engine for the removal bar. I'm far from skinny, but I don't see how anyone could get far enough under the car to do any work without a lift.

    I think a better challenge would be go do one lap of a race track, then change the engine and do another lap.

    I'm pretty sure there was a fuel line hooked up, but it probably had a quick-connect fitted. #fordescort
