Ford Active Park Assist: "Better-Than-Lexus" Push-Button Parallel Parking To Debut In Lincoln MKT, MKS

Maybe I'm reading it wrong.
Anyway, at least you have to operate the gas and brake pedals. That means whoever's driving is still liable for the damage they do to my car.

But that Town Car they've been building the same way for 15-ish years? They do have the bugs worked out of that.

Here's how you can beat Lexus: Better fit and finish, better powertrain, better materials, and better ergonomics.

Gee, next they'll put a stand-up hood ornament back on...

When is the "auto blow job" feature being installed under the steering column?
They've hung every other trinket on them...

Stupid and dishonest.

And at the beginning of 2008, GM was saying that they would not be saving Ford (when it looked like Ford was headed to the bottom). Maybe they're hoping Ford will save them?

Two: You could actually parallel-park your fucking car if you could see out the back. Almost every new car has a near-horizontal back window and a trunk that's jacked up six inches higher than the hood. Shit needs to stop. Combine that with the already-high beltlines of today's cars (gotta love driving a friggin' bunker) and the number of higher-up trucks, SUVs, and tall wagons (not crossovers, tall wagons) out there... and you can't see a shitting thing behind you.
I'll keep my Volvo 244. Visibility second-to-none, power steering that isn't, and giant plastic bumpers in case your Lincoln fucks the pup when you're trying to get it to park itself.

On another note, it's good to see Ford taking improving fuel mileage across its lineup seriously. First it's direct injection, now it's electric motors for power steering; it's clear they have a plan that will help fuel mileage on just about every vehicle they sell without drastically affecting price (unlike some other companies that seem solely focused on expensive hybrid models).
I have to wonder whether the electric motors are as powerful as a hydraulic system. Though that would probably only really affect the heaviest of their vehicles.
