I'll grant you that this significantly changes the stated ambition and direction of Chrysler's EV program, but it reads more like a merger of the two company's EV programs, rather than the death of the Chrysler EV program.

Desperation can breed good ideas. This Circuit, with the exception of the decidedly old-school red Viper taillights, is the best looking Dodge I've seen in a long time. #chryslerenvi
you've got to be kidding me, wes... first i lose all that money on my pre-ordered tesla... and now on this too?? i guess it's time to move the money tree to a larger pot... see if it'll grow a bit bigger.. #chryslerenvi
Someone elses chassis + someone elses powertrain + Chrysler badges = How the hell would this have been profitable? There was no innovation here. It was cobbled together with existing technology that anyone could put together (and Tesla did it already). At the time it came out I was thinking it must be something to impress Congress to get the bail-out money. Now, I'm positive. #chryslerenvi
Its like they are running a bakery with an easy bake oven. And the light bulb inside keeps burning out. And truth be told, even when the oven is working at its best and the bulb stays on -- whatever you bake in it is going to suck -- because its not a real oven. Its a piece of plastic shit with a dim light bulb.
This is not a real car company. What's the last mainstream platform they developed? The K car? Half-baked cars built with very dim light bulbs. #chryslerenvi
Well remember Chrysler had/has no car that gets better than 30 mpg highway, so with Fiat's new engines here in 2 years it should help fleet mileage as much as a low volume battery electric. There will still be a hybrid Ram 1500 next year though. #chryslerenvi

@BaconSandwich: exactly. For some reason some folks seem to have this idea that Jeeps are all about trashing the environment and crushing bunnies underfoot. But the outdoorsy people (the ones who actually camp, hike, fish and hunt) are actually the ones who care more about the quiet enjoyment of the environment than the ones who just want to look like they offroad. Jeep could do a lot to prevent an image failure like Hummer had by embracing (or returning to) the outdoorsman market. And if they can do it with a high-torque electric that would actually be more capable offroad, all the better.
@danio3834 & makopolo: if you'd read about the program, you'd know that the Jeep was a gas/electric hyrbid with a (supposed) range of 400 miles on an 8 gallon tank, which is enough to travel the entire length of the Sierra Nevada range.
I say stick with the golf cart look. I think it is quite fetching, and probably sexier than whatever egg-shaped atrocity it will end up being. #gordonmurray

Oh it's my favorite British peer, Lord Drayson. Here's what he drives to work.
Did I also mention that he's blind in one eye and his driving partner is named Jonny Cocker?
Yeah. Awesome. #gordonmurray
