I would have argued that the hearse was the start of the funeral procession and I was just waiting for the family to show up.

Seriously, how much can it cost him to run an incinerator? I know it's not the way to run a business, but instead of committing a crime that disgusting, how about just incinerator? Perhaps someone working at a funeral home can enlighten me on the cost of one firing.

Gadsen, Alabama, home of the Allis-Chalmers G and other things that were mistreated and allowed to rot.

Sorry for Edna's kinfolk, but they don't sound like such charmers either. "Whattawe gon' do 'bout Mamaw?"

@mchale2020: It's not gonna happen cheap if there's that many scene kids. On the other hand, I could take on two or three of the fuckers at a time, and I'm not that strong.

Like I needed another reason to avoid the place.

How much does it cost to incinerate a body?
I thought gas prices had come down in the US.

I saw this on CNN and had a feeling it would show up here. There was a worse case in our neck of the woods where a funeral home director attempted to return the body of the deceased to the family. On their porch.

Also sad here that the family apparently didn't give it a thought for two years.

Forgive me if this is a stupid question...

...but if a guy owns an incinerator and he wants to get rid of a body...

You see where I'm going with that, right?

@Stuntdriver: True, but still cheaper than throwing away an entire vehicle I would think.

Plus its probably easier to recoup your money in small claims court if you avoid doing something heinous that violates state law.

I fail to understand how a running hearse is worth less than a cubic yard of refrigerator space.

On the other hand, you could probably buy it at a county auction for a couple hundred bucks and gut it for LeMons. You'd be the first hearse not piloted by douchebags!

Gadsden's claim to fame was previously that it was the Third Biggest Alabaman City Along the Drive from New Orleans to Blacksburg, Virginia.

@mytdawg: Ugh. That was front-page news 'round these parts for a long time. And then Dr. Bass from the Body Farm went and made himself into a novelist and incorporated a lot of that narsty travesty into a bestseller.

See, you can get rich with unburied dead bodies.
