Two watchful eyes, menacing, stares fast.
Three spoked-wheel held steadfast,
Four wheels and no roof, a modern recast.
Ellipses, circles, curves all abound,
Engine's roar projects fear all around.
No silicon chips to strain the beast,
One-seven-five on roads not policed.

Basic but saweeeeta alum dash with slot for room for a single slot radio (not that ya need one with that fantastic grumble under the hood).. DOUBLE C H E C K

Another thing: it looks like they ditched the convertible top altogether and made it a roadster. While this may look nice, I would rather have a car that I can drive every day, rain or shine.

On the other hand, a 300 hp hemi straight-six does sound nice. I'm under the impression though that if I have to ask, it's too expensive.

I largely agree. Fantastic automobile, to be sure. Yet, ultimately, they took a car whose quirks factored greatly into its appeal and in their place fashioned, what can I can only imagine is, psychotically expensive sleekness. I'll set aside my annoyance that the photos are accompanied by a description that includes the word "luxury" and state: "Wonderful car, but give me an original." And as far as price (as mentioned by Mobius); I could trade in my new Mazda3 for an original, this one .... well, good bye early retirement or hello second mortgage.
However, count me in if they they create a more authentic front end ... perhaps the orignal chrome bumpers would do the trick.

300 ponies is still nothing to sneeze at, but it's not far off of the series 3 with the V12.
That said, I absolutely love this. It's modern in all the right ways, and maintains the sexiest aspects of the original E-Type.
Now if my numbers would just hit...

BTW, when you say "series 3", do you mean BMW 3 series? There's one with a V12?? How did I miss that?!

Contrary to my Brit loving tendencies, I have to give the edge to the 507 over the original E-Type. This Speedster takes an E-Type and makes the styling better. The Z8, which was supposedly "inspired by" the 507 might have been a worthy successor, but stylistically it was a lateral move, at best. There just wasn't anything in the 507's styling to "fix". It was perfect.
