It is not a present to buy for your LA-area 19-year-old. When parents like you buy cars like M3s for your kids, things like this happen — they pile a couple of guys in the car, then take it out for high-speed foolishness. At the peak of teenage testosterone, they will hit the "M button," rocket up a hill, lose control, jump a curb and bash into a house.

You do not have to one-up your idiot neighbors. In fact, do not buy your son a car at all. If you do, buy him a clapped-out 80's-era Volvo. We know you think your son deserves all the best, but he also doesn't deserve to turn into that idiot teen who gets ridiculed on the internet for crashing expensive BMW's into peoples houses — or for ramping off the end of a runway berm, killing everyone in the car. <![CDATA[2010 BMW M3 CSL To Get 470 HP, 186 MPH Top Speed]]> BMW is working on a follow up to the E46 CSL, applying the same approach to an E90 chassis. Like its predecessor, the 2010 BMW M3 CSL will drop standard equipment for weight savings and boost power. More details after the jump.

In addition to the absence of A/C and a stereo, the M3 CSL will also make extensive use of carbon fiber body panels and use cardboard for the luggage compartment, all in an effort to reduce weight. Of course, since reduced weight alone won't justify the $143,000 price tag, power will be boosted 50 HP to 470 HP and production will be limited to only 100 cars. There's no word on whether or not the CSL will use an asymmetrical air intake, but we'll have our fingers crossed when it appears at the Frankfurt Auto Show.

<![CDATA[BMW M3 Sedan Brochure Pics Leaked]]> With Bimmerheads' attentions turned to the return of BMW's four-door version of the new M3, any bit of new info is like kibble to a starving mutt. (Not that BMW fans are mutts; you get the picture.) Now, digital slices of a new brochure have made their way to BMW forum BMW-Treff. They show a few teasers of the V8-powered four-door to come, perhaps at next year's Geneva auto show. Apparently it's rolling on some new 19-inchers, though it's hard to tell through all that blur effect. [BMW-Treff via World Car Fans]

<![CDATA[BMW Morphology: E92 Coupe to Sedan]]>

If you wondered exactly how BMW's E92 335i coupe's design differed from the latest 3-Series Sedan (other than that they both share strands of Chris Bangle's DNA), look no further than this short clip of the two-door morphing into the four-door. No refunds on those 30 seconds of your life.
