If this car was to truly represent the lineage, it would have 5 wheels, including 2 on the roof.

The liquid helium-cooled door-mounted 728cc engine would give 87 kilometres per litre of shampoo, and the bonnet would double as a vegetable patch.

Children would be able to draw accurate likenesses in crayon from the age of 1.

Reminds me when GM "brought back" the GTO:

"Hey! It's the new Pontiac GTO! Sure, it looks nothing like the old GTO, and it's actually a re-badged Holden, but we just don't care anymore. Now buy one so we don't go broke."

I said it before, they need to hire Pardo to help them keep the character of the original DS in an updated design.

And I wonder if they will go faster in reverse than any forward gear?

Still doesn't say DS to me. More like BS. Too many cluttered, small bore styling moves that don't come together, and don't have much purpose.

But if it corners like a banshee, yet rides like its shocks are filled with Fluff, maybe we can talk.

At least it will still kneel down like a camel when you turn it off, right?

@Van Sarockin: All that, and it needs to squat when you brake, and make it's own banked turns (I've never experienced Hydropneumatic awesomeness, but from what I gather the self-leveling feature tends to overcompensate in the DS).

@Deartháir: Sadly, there are a lot of people in the US who would love nationalize healthcare here. Our president is one of them. What I don't get is these are usually the same people that point out how horrible the Veterans Admin. hospitals are. Well, that is what government-run healthcare looks like!

@engineerd - fighting zombies one sign at a time: Oh don't get me wrong. If they tried to take away our nationalized healthcare, I'd be grabbing the torch and pitchfork and marching on Ottawa. The problem is that the quality of healthcare varies dramatically from province to province. Here in Alberta, it's fantastic. Other provinces, not so much.

Maybe a little over-styled, but I like it, generally speaking. I see the Audi big-mouth grille has taken over another automaker. I predict this will be seen as one of the design characteristics of the Naughties and early Teens, much as the fins defined the Fifties and early Sixties.

Now, as part of that "new strategy", I can't help but wonder are they going to: a.) improve their build quality, and b.) come to North America?

(If that's answered in the press release, someone feel free to enlighten me... it was too long and boring for me to pay attention. Rather like a French movie.)

i love the design. not very DSy, but that's a good thing says i, we've been given far too many rehashings of retro cars this decade and its good to see something designed to be itself, not something else.
and the new logo works well with the design language, but i really miss the days when the dual chevrons looked like they could cut glass. now that i think about it, the logos are the exact essence of the design language. cool. but original the original DS and SM are cooler.

@SirNotAppearing: As a kid in Argentina, we always pronounced it "see-TRO-en", but I never really knew the "proper" English pronounciation. Lately I've been saying "sitchrun" like the guys on Top Gear, but they probably butcher the pronunciation on purpose to piss off the French.

    @citroen67_now available with T-bar Roof!: I would.

Those tréma (umlauts) over the "e" are there specifically to point out the need to pronounce both vowels when otherwise you would not.

So it would be silly to say sih-TROHN, when it can easily be pronounced properly in three syllables, sih-TROH-en, and sound like you know.

To me it's just like the porsh/por-SHAH situation.
