<![CDATA[Celebrating 450 Old Vehicles Down On The Alameda Street: Chrysler Corporation]]> After the '73 Challenger and '51 Dodge we saw this weekend, now seems like the right time to honor the Chrysler, Dodge, and Plymouth vehicles I've photographed down on the Alameda street.

I'm not including the Dodge- and Plymouth-branded Mitsubishis here; you'll need to check out the 450 DOTS: The Japanese post for the Colts and Arrows.

<![CDATA[Celebrating 450 Old Vehicles Down On The Alameda Street: The Japanese]]> We saw the non-German European Alameda DOTS machines yesterday, and today we'll admire the old Japanese iron that still survives on the streets of the Island That Rust Forgot.

The Gawker Server Hamsters won't let me show you all 450 cars and trucks (actually more than 480 by now) at once- they go into an angry rodent frenzy that just isn't pretty when I try- but we'll get to all of them this way. Next up… maybe the trucks? The Detroit compacts? Who can say? For now, enjoy the Datsuns, Toyotas, Hondas, Mazdas, and Mitsubishis. I've included some Ford and Chrysler captive imports, such as the Plymouth Fire Arrow and the Ford Courier, since they're 100% Japanese designed and built.

<![CDATA[Celebrating 450 Old Vehicles Down On The Alameda Street: Detroit Luxury!]]> The Down On The Street series has been around for a couple years now, and we've seen a good sampling of big ol' Detroit luxury dreadnaughts down on the Alameda street during that time.

Let those effete snobs in Europe sneer at our Brougham Editions, faux heraldic crests, and acres of rich pleather upholstery- we know they're secretly envious! With that in mind, here are the Eldorados, Continentals, Electras, Imperials, and all the other multi-ton classic American luxury machines we've seen so far. When you're done here, be sure to check out the non-Big Three Americans, the Germans, and the wagons of the 450 DOTS Celebration.

<![CDATA[Celebrating 450 Old Vehicles Down On The Alameda Street: The Non-Big 3 American Machines]]> We're actually up to 482 Alameda street-parked classics in this series, but I'm still working on chronicling the 450-machine milestone. The Server Hamsters resist in all their maddened rodential fury, but we press on!

So, in an attempt to get the 450 DOTS Celebration to show up on your computer, I'm breaking it up into sections. We've had the Germans and the Wagons, and today I've been so inspired by the beautiful DOTS '69 AMX that I've put together a collection of Alameda's street-parked vintage American cars and trucks that were not designed by Detroit's Big Three (I say "designed" because I think that the '45 Jeep counts as a Willys, in spite of being built by Ford). I believe that the trio of kit cars, the Shay Model A, the CMC Gazelle, and the Fieroborghini- based on Pinto, Chevette, and Fiero chassis, respectively- qualify here, because, well, why not? You Scout fans will find plenty of iron to admire, we've got some Ramblers and a couple of Studes, and there's even a Packard!

<![CDATA[Celebrating 450 Old Vehicles Down On The Alameda Street: The Wagons]]> We've hit another milestone, with 450 interesting street-parked vehicles in the Down On The Street series. That means it's time to have our customary DOTS roundup, but we're doing it a bit differently this time.

Rather than doing what we've done in the past and showing hyperlinked photos of all 450 vehicles in one great big post, we're going to see them in a series of posts over the next few weeks, grouped by type. While some might point out-correctly-that the Gawker Server Hamsters' inability to cope with more than a ridiculously small totally reasonable total number of characters in a post's HTML code is the driving force behind the new arrangement, we like to think that it'll be better this way. First up: the Station Wagons Of Alameda!
