We’ve seen race car drivers scare the crap out of their own mothers before, but let’s be honest, it’s easy to scare your mother. Bring home one little completely inconsequential deadly tropical disease, and she’s rushing you off to the hospital. But jaded old driving instructors? That’s serious business.
Formula Drift Road Atlanta is this weekend, and that means that there's enough smoke pouring out of the tires to make Snoop Lion feel welcome. This gorgeous set of photos is as close as you're going to get.
You would think that people would know not to stand too close to cars that have purposely lost a measure of control in order to have fun. You would think that people would know that these cars, especially when not driven by professionals, can be unpredictable. This man did not know.
Parking is the worst, most boring part of driving. Especially when it's in a multi-level parking garage, and you have to be slow, and careful, and hate your life, because you can't find anything. But stomping on the loud pedal and elegantly drifting all the way to the top would be so much better.
Some might call sticking the venerable 2JZ-GTE engine that originally powered a Toyota Supra in the bay of a BMW M3 sacrilege. But when that engine is now putting out around 700 horsepower, you can't deny that it works. Especially when that BMW M3 is a snorting, smoking, drifting hulk.
Note: this is not how you actually turn left in Michigan's Upper Peninsula, but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do. In reality, this is how you turn left in New Jersey.
Red Bull seems to be on a mission in this world, and that is to bring as much awesome as possible to every single goddamn road. First they showed us New Zealand, and now, they show us China.
Almost exactly a year ago we first heard about Speed Sisters, the documentary about Palestinian female racing drivers and drifters. It was just an announcement really about a documentary, and sometimes these things fizzle out. Now though, it seems like it's actually on track, and it looks great.
Welcome to Sunday Matinee, where we highlight classic car reviews or other longer videos I find on YouTube. Kick back and enjoy this blast from the past.
Yep, that's a 911 GT3 RS, complete with factory-installed roll bar, a wailing flat six, a ten-year-old driver drifting it like a champ, and... wait, what?!?
Laughing at others' misfortune is more fun, and sounds way better in Japanese than in English.
