    Seems like overkill. If they are in a position to use this kind of firepower, I would say that the POTUS shouldn't be there anyways. I.E. most war-torn conveys.

    @Deartháir: I'd have to disagree with that. A tank will rotate around its center, so all you ave to do is back into the spot and spin (one track in reverse, the other forward) until you're parked. Couldn't be simpler.

    @jodark: Don't confuse me with a gun-hating victim-wannabe, far from it. I was just voicing my first thought that something that spits that much lead that quickly would be likely to produce an unacceptably high amount of collateral damage if used in a motorcade scenario (as was alluded to in the article).

    @Jellodyne: Typical response. Take an idea you don't like and try to make others not like it too by making asinine remarks like that (or is your imagination really so limited that you thought that's what was being suggested?). Nobody advocated having students carrying. If some of the staff who are trained and qualified to carry concealed were allowed to, instead of creating zones where everybody with a gun is a criminal, schools and other public places wouldn't be such an attractive target for people who want to shoot at people without those people shooting back.

    if a threat must be stopped asap you throw as much lead into it as fast as possible..whether that be a car bomb or a dude with an rpg. only in movies to security/cops get headshots or shoot things out of criminals hands, and no, regular guns don't stop a car either, let alone make it blow up. hollywood is responsible for giving people exaggerated ideas of what guns can do. google box of truth for more info on what bullets can and cannot do.

    @Justifan: Hollywood is also responsible for giving people the impression that you can use a minigun to hurl 10,000 rounds at a charging vehicle in a crowd of civilians, and not kill anybody but the bad guys. Also, likening the Secret Service to "security/cops" shows a high level of cluelessness on your part. Try Googling "Secret Service" for more information on how they operate, and what it takes to become an Agent.


    Don't presume to lecture me on ballistics, either. I probably fired more founds before my 18th birthday than you have in your entire life. My father firmly believed (as do I) that the best way not to be killed with a gun is to be highly skilled in using one.
