Still, I'm proud of my little Tiger team that could — they went farther than anyone expected. But, while watching the post-game, I did happen to notice that Chevrolet has completely taken over the game of baseball. Above you'll see a quick camera snapshot of the screen as 31-year-old Cardinals shortstop David Eckstein, receives both his MVP trophy and a bright yellow Chevy Corvette Z06. (Kudos to that, I'm sure, need to go to Corvette PRanista Travis Parman — who we've no doubt wheeled that 500+ hp beast onto the field himself.) Yup, the husband of Ashley "That 70's Show" Drane now finally has "my first car I can call my own from the beginning." What the hell's this dude been doing with his paycheck over the past five years — I thought selling out was a prerequisite. Hell, as you can see from the other pic we took below the jump — it's probably a rule in MLB.

<![CDATA[Our Crooner, Our Truck: Bob Seger To Sing National Anthem For Game One Of The Chevrolet-Sponsored World Series]]> The hit squad goons with the General's marketing team may have thought they'd heard the last of fan-fave crooner Bob Seger, but now that it's been confirmed the fan-fave crooner'll be getting a run at the national anthem at the lynchpin of Chevy's $400 million marketing blitz for the Silverado, we've only got two questions. If Bob Seger forgets what he's doing and where he is tomorrow night, do you think he'll start belting out "Like A Rock?" More importantly, because the World Series is sponsored by Chevrolet, will the PR folks in the booth force Major League Baseball and Fox to dub it over with "Our Country?"

<![CDATA[Hey, GM — There's Free Ice Cream Downstairs!]]> If you're one of the thousands of zombies pecking away at your keyboards today at the RenCen, or you happen to be in downtown Detroit — just in case you hadn't heard yet — there will be a rally downstairs at noon to celebrate the start of tomorrow's Detroit Tigers World Series run. And yes, like all events hosted by the General, we hear there will be free ice cream. That is all.

<![CDATA[Bless You Boys (And Girls) At DaimlerChrysler For Making The Only PT Cruiser One Of Us Could Ever Love]]>

We're all pretty excited here in Motown about our beloved Detroit Tigers. It's been 22 years since we've been to the classic of fall classics, the World Series — and people have gone so cracker-jack crazy over our "boys" — DaimlerChrysler decided it'd be a good idea to get a piece of that PR action themselves. The German-American hybrid's paired themselves up with local NBC affiliate WDIV, and gone and redecorated their lame-mobile PT Cruiser in full ballgame uniform — minus cleats. The result is a car they've named the "WDIV Tigers Cruiser" that for this week and next, even we'd be pleased as punch to call our own. Knowing the Chrysler folks, this'll probably end up becoming next year's Woodward Dream Cruise Edition PT. Come on Chrysler Group — we're still waiting on our orange and blue Tigers / Jalopnik Dodge Charger SRT8!
