Rumor has it there are some goodies within the demo. There are billboards scattered throughout the demo level that can be smashed through and will be counted. Rumor has it that there is a drivable Bumblebee rewarded for smashing through all of the billboards—nah, I'm just shitting you. I have no idea if there is a reward for smashing the billboards, but that would be sweet, right? [Kotaku]

<![CDATA[Mercedes S-Class TV Crash a Failed Fake, Conspiring Journalist Fired]]>

Remember the story of the crash-avoidance system demonstration that went awry on TV, causing three Mercedes S-Class models to blindly crash into each other? It turns out Mercedes officials knew the test wouldn't work, and so conspired with a journalist from Germany's AutoBild to pull it off for the cameras anyway. Turns out, the journalist — sorry, ex-journalist — who was to have been clandestinely cued when to apply the brakes, flubbed his part and crashed into the car ahead. Worst. Ex-journalist. Ever. [Thanks to Charles for the tip.]

<![CDATA[Radar No Love: Malfunction During Product Demo Causes S-Class Pileup]]> s_class_crash.jpg

We could hear the grumbling of the press folks from here: "Worst. Product. Demo. Ever." Three 2006 Mercedes S-Class sedans were damaged when a televised demonstration of the cars' groundbrakeing (heh heh) radar-guided automatic stopping system went ka-flawo. As Leftlane News reports, the carefully staged choreography called for the first car in a line of three to brake hard, while the anti-crash systems in the second and third cars were to have kicked in to save the day. Yep. You can tell from our use of the conditional past tense back there that it didn't end well.
