Im not real fimilar with the parts / supplier world... But I dont understand how one tiny supplier is all they have doing the Camaro?
Cant the same supplier who does the Silverado, Malibu, CTS, Cobalt interiors.. just add this to their mix?
I also dont get.. an dor underatand how such a large company like GM can have such poor relationships with its suppliers.
Ya'd think GM woudl give a damn about keeping its subs / suppliers happy?
Just like the people who made the heated wiper fluid, that cost a coupld hundred mil in recall costs through GM. Those vehicles are still on the road, with many still unsold. While the company who made them are in bankruptcy. GM owed THEM money and they SUE?!
I dont get how / why that supplier didnt test these things throughly "enough". Maybe cause of the time frame schedule.
And I also dont get how stingy GM is...
I would however like some list of what suppliers actually supply what goes into an average GM SUV / TRUCK / sedan. Id like to know.. exactly how many companies they have by the balls..
Be awfully nice if they started sueing for parts on demand. C.O.D!
@Accordforall: Cadence has all the molds; going to a different supplier would mean recreating all the necessary tooling, or hoping you could purchase same at auction when Cadence finishes twitching.

General:
Hallo
Cadence:
General we've just kidnapped your parts
Have bailout ready by tomorrow night
and General no police
or you'll never see your parts again
General:
Hallo
I remember standing there so petrified
my hand frozen to the phone
as a stranger's words that caught in my ears
and chilled me to the bone
Some dark tragedy had come right home to me
they'd kidnapped my parts and the Camaro life was in their hands
CHORUS:
It was a hostage, a hostage
His life was at the mercy of their hands
He was a hostage, a hostage
His life depending on their gold demands
General:
Hallo
Cadence:
General, here are your parts through
to warn not to play any games
Parts:
Vroomm listen I'm okay
Just make sure you do whatever they tell you
and whatever you do don't go to the police!
Well I couldn't raise that kinda money fast
so I was left no other choice
so I called the police and they came in fast
saying "leave it up to us
just do as they told
the ransom's in this bag
we'll watch over you
and we'll have your parts back too"
REPEAT CHORUS
General:
Hallo
Cadence:
Listen very carefully General
Drive out to the abandoned shack on Highway 16
throw the package of money out the window and keep driving
and remember lady no police!
Well my heart was heavy as I made that drive
I was sure something was wrong
I soon found the shack
I threw out the bag and I just kept driving on
Then the shots rang out and I turned my car about
On the ground one lay but the other one had gotten away
REPEAT CHORUS
General:
Well they found my parts a few days later
Yes, the funeral's tomorrow
