They said he had removed/used a nylon cord from the curtains.
This may explain why I've never even been able to get those damn things to open or close properly--freaks after cheap and potentially deadly thrills.
Sorry. I just really don't understand this kind of "me time." In a hotel. With the risk of death. And an absurd, too-soon ending to an otherwise remarkable life.
Found dead by hanging in a hotel in Bangkok, Thailand?
As horrible as this may sound, I somehow can't imagine that the guy would have left this world in any less dramatic of a way. I'm not trying to disrespect him in any way. He was just one of those truly awesome guys that helped an entire generation define what it means to be cool. If he had to die, and I'm sorry that he is dead, then it had to be in some unusual, borderline morbidly interesting way. It had to be his own, personal way, as one last symbolic demonstration of the fact that he was in control of his own destiny, not some intangible force.
Uh,... just what was he doing in Bangkok. I haven't heard anything good from that place. If I went there, I sure wouldn't have any identifying papers on me, because I wouldn't want anyone to know that I had been there, in case I died.
@Flathead Smith: And just what have you heard "from that place"? I've been there; it's a wonderful city with friendly people, excellent food and a vibrant culture. Chiang Mai was also fantastic. I have nothing but love for Thailand.
If it is true that he commited suicide, that is very sad and unfortunate. I never understand the desire to end one's life. Depression is a seriously scary thing. In a way, I almost hope he was killed, and that they find his killer. Either way, this sure is an unglamorous end to a great career.
@John Krewson: According to a couple articles I found, local police are saying he commited suicide. I hope they do not just accept that and investigate it further...
Reminds of the the '74 Road Runner "clone" I saw for sale at the side of the road--basically a repainted Satellite with a 318, 3-speed slushbox. Next to it was a Benz roadster kit riding on '71 Beetle innards.

If it was the original movie car with David Carradine's blood stains, Roger Corman's black book of B-Movie actresses and George Barris' signature (he'll sign anything), I'd say nice price. This thing is just crackalicious.

I did kill a bystander once though.

That's nothing, I critically injured an entire convention. It was a comic book convention so it was really expected.

I went to the bar on Friday, came home and the next thing I knew- I bought a broken television for $4300.00
I couldn't let my buddy get it.
