Should she focus more on becoming a more "complete" driver (i.e. technical feedback, strength, mental toughness)? In my opinion, yes.

You come here if you love cars. Secret cars, concept cars, flying cars, vintage cars, tricked-out cars, red cars, black cars, blonde cars - sometimes, cars just because of the curve of a hood; not to judge how Danica, or Booth Professional, et. al. looks. Sure they're a nice addition to the car cult, but personally, I'm here for the cars and the strange stories Jalop finds about them.

There is no doubt that Danica is a beautiful woman, but by no means is she a stand alone knock out. Her fame is equally created by her professioinal success as it is her natural looks. Essentially saying, there is no way she would make it to the pages of SI in a bikini if she wasn't already known for her driving. So if she can (A) make some damn good ching and (B) premote her sport, by shaking her tail-feathers...why the hell not? IRL needs SOMETHING to gain viewer intrest....

If she has great calves from stomping some pedals, so much the better.
Danica is cashing in all over the place, look at any recent car mag, she's shilling something in there. Why shouldn't she do this? She can be a great driver and be a sexy woman as well.
Saying anything else smacks of the usual double-standard.

I don't see any male drivers posing semi-scandalously. Thus, I'd say the standard is you can be attractive, but posing near-naked is frowned upon...unless you're a woman. Thus: double standard.
It's not a real big deal to me. Danica can make hardcore pr0n for all I care.
It's just that she's going to set a standard that no women will be able to get ahead in racing if they aren't hot and willing to show it off. That's a detriment to the sport.
