I have looked, but failed to find the ridiculous promised. But am not disappointed. Except maybe about the wheels, and my doubts that the hood is not naked carbon fiber.

I'm a bit confused why this has the "-chero" postfix rather than the more common-for-truckcars "-amino." Is it because of both Ford and Daimler's connections to Jaguar?

@discontinuuity is tentatively testing the waters of Murlopnik Weekend before plunging again into the fridgid waters that are Jalopnik proper: Okay, a brief explaination. "Camino" is the generic term of a truck car, like people calling tissues Kleenex. The proper nomenclature is determined like a game of six-degrees-of Camino. The suffix for a truck car is either -ampage (Rampage), -camino or -amino (Camino) or -chero (ranchero), the etymology is determined based on the closest the car's brand is to either Chrysler, GM or Ford.

In this case, the argument can be made that it should be a Daimlerpage or a Daimlerchero. Daimlerpage since Daimler was involved in the British Leyland debacle, which Chrysler bought pieces of and thoroughly destroyed.

But more recently, and thus more importantly, Daimler was part of Jaguar Cars, which Ford bought before eventually selling to Tata.

If Tata had a legendary Camino to its name, the argument for adding their vehicle's suffix to the name would be made, however the scholarly debate on the subject is still underway.

@Ben Wojdyla: I realize the rules for this were settled long ago, but shouldn't cars with the "-amino" suffix get an "el" in front as well? As in, "el six-wheeled Porsche 928amino"?

@Ben Wojdyla: Daimler was pretty much an innocent bystander in the British Leyland disaster. Jaguar bought up the ailing company in 1960, gutted it, and turned the marque into nothing more than Jaguar clones. Even the DS420 - the last true Daimler - was basically all Jaguar DNA in its makeup.

And how was Chrysler involved with BL? It was the Rootes Group (Hillman, Sunbeam, Singer, Humber) along with Simca that Chrysler bought and destroyed. Leyland self-destructed just fine without American help.

@Ben Wojdyla: Do I see a handy chart in Jalopnik's future? One that answers questions such as:

If you truck-car a Holden Epica, does it become an Epicamino, or a Epica Ute?

If you truck-car a Subaru Legacy, does it become a Legamino, or a Legaja?

If you truck-car a Lamborghini Espada, does it become an Espadampage?

If you truck-car a Mazda Cosmo, does it become a Cosmochero?

@British_Looks_British_Reliabil...: Subaru, I believe, is a special case. Instead of adding a car/truck suffix, I think the style book demands that car/truck Subarus are "Bratastic." So, in your example, it would be a "Bratastic Legacy."
