Reminds of the the '74 Road Runner "clone" I saw for sale at the side of the road--basically a repainted Satellite with a 318, 3-speed slushbox. Next to it was a Benz roadster kit riding on '71 Beetle innards.

If it was the original movie car with David Carradine's blood stains, Roger Corman's black book of B-Movie actresses and George Barris' signature (he'll sign anything), I'd say nice price. This thing is just crackalicious.

Are those Jersey plates on this thing? If so, it goes a long way toward explaining it's existance.

    Wierd NJ approved? Yep!

    Crack pipe? Undoubtedly.

Crack. I don't say that often, but this is crack.

What you have here, really, is a primo Lemons entry. You might have trouble getting the seller down to $500. Then again, you could just kill him for it, or offer to fight him for it--which would, of course, be entirely consistent with the premise.

    @Novaload Misses Murilee: $500 and a kilo.

Last I checked, there's nothing in the LeMons rules against bartering for a car.

The prefect LeMons vehicle. Too bad that you'll have to sell off $9,500 worth of awesome to get it down to its fighting weight. But then you'll just be driving a naked Beetle floor pan.

@engineerd: I believe that could be found readily for less than $500. You'd certainly want a full birdcage rollbar set up for that, and to keep the pan from folding up on you on its own.

I think I'll use Jeremy Clarkson's Cool-o-meter but with the Jalop twist.

"You drive up to Megan Fox's driveway in your newly purchased (insert car) at the preordained time. You gently honk (if your car has a horn and it is working)."

    Does she:

    a)call security

b)open her curtains and take a peek

c)open her curtains and take a peek, the call security

d)open her curtains and take a peek, lets you take a peek, too

e)open her curtains and take a peek, lets you take a peek, too, then come outside and gets in your car for a night out

f)open her curtains and take a peek, lets you take a peek, too, then come outside and gets in your car for a night out and then calls security

    ~or~

g)open her curtains and take a peek, lets you take a peek, too, then come outside and gets in your car for a night out and then calls security to tie you up in her bed.

    Best line from the movie:

    -What's that?
    -Its a hand grenade.

Its funnier in context, I guess. Sly Stallone in his medium-sized screen debut!
