    Good news: CaddyWagon!

Bad news: The tail lights appear to be climbing toward the roof.

And Caddy, of ALL PEOPLE, should understand tail lights.

I'll take the Audi. GM has already eliminated the performance engineers. There's no point in a wagon without doing it right. 6 speed manual, AWD, luxury.

Hey, that reminds me, we haven't seen any hearses Down On The Street. Why?

The massive pillar can go die in a fire. I'm loving those taillights, though.

I think GM blew it in trying to reduce the wagon-ness of the profile of this car.

They converted 60% of what the rear glass should've been into D-pillar so they could keep a quasi-sedan/5-door look on the glass.

Would've made sense if you didn't already offer a crossover for the wagophobes out there, but since you've already got the SRX and Escalade, you should really let the wagon be a wagon.

I'd really like them to offer this as a Pontiac or Chevy product. The problem they're going to have here is that it'll be a $45-55k A6/535/Volvo-whatever it is competitor. There's a lot less competition down around $25-25k for something like this.

I thoght, "Oh cool! GM is making a sport wagon!"

Then I saw the picture. What the hell was the designer smoking? And where can I get some? This could be so cool, but that is ugly.

Unless GM came up with some fancy new camo...

Next task. Identify what make/model of car the photographer is driving; by so doing, we can probably figure out which of our Detroit readers saw this sucker in person.

@SirNotF*cking: That dash looks awfully similar to my Passat. So I'm gonna guess 02-05 Passat, or perhaps older but with Bosch Icon wipers (or similar).

@Ash78: Didn't VW switch to the side-pillar wipers, rather than the bent C-hook style, somewhere around '99?

@Deartháir exists mostly to f*ck with new commenters: I believe the low-profile wipers arrived around 2002 or so. My wife's midyear 01.5 has bent-hook*, but all of my family's VW cars (03-08) have the slim-mount*, IIRC. Running changes vary a lot from platform to platform.

(*these are technical terms I just made up).

    That is a HUGE D-pillar.

I'm not crazy about it, but I'm contemplating buying it over a G8 just because I want to encourage GM to release more fucking wagons, instead of stupid SUV/XUV/CUV/PUV/BUV/TUV things.

Initially it makes sense. Then you're eyes start to go our of focus. Evidence of the MC Escher design language.
