Those wheels are a big improvement over the ones on the 2009 US version. And they even look a little bigger. Could be the sport/aero version though, which I don't think we get in the US.

Hopefully they'll bump the HP a tad and add the diesel option this year.

Looks like the same cleft lipped mutant as the current one. Honda/Acura needs to rethink their grill strategy. How about getting rid of them like they did in the 1980's? The really are no longer needed.

@usa1: Yes! Kille the grille! 1994 Acura Integra FTW!

Cars have a bulbous high nose these days for Euro pedestrian safety regulations; maybe designers lack the guts to leave it naked like a baby beluga.

But... but... it doesn't have the thick, garish chrome ring...

I don't much care what they do to the nose. Just give us a proper rear side window. That D-pillar is ungainly and awful.

    @FP - Activity resumes!:
Apparently it's some sort of new safety regulation that new cars aren't allowed to have good visibility. It's against public policy for people to live too long.

@It's a Camaro: Yeah, that one's worse in terms of visibility, but not quite as bad in terms of style. Chop 'em both out.

@segfault: People just want to feel safe and invincible in their bunkers, like they aren't going to die when they rear-end another asshole businessman or ditzy soccer mom in another poorly-designed vehicle. The latter can't possibly be true, or new cars wouldn't have six airbags and three things ending in "Control" standard. (No, "throttle control" is not one of those things. Few drivers seem to have gotten that option package.)

Inevitably, grilles will become so big that our cars will be made of chicken wire-patterned plastic.

@Wunno Sev: And again, I wish I'd saved the image of the new Dodge Ram that one of the editors Photoshopped a consecutively larger grille on, culminating in a hilarious four-by-six-foot schnoz.

Nah, this looks almost normal. I'm sure Honda will find a way to make our grille much uglier.

Same ugly grille, less traveling-sales-rep body (but more Fit). Zero rear/side visibility. Oh, shit.

Since all of these, statistically, are sold in Massachusetts, where drivers don't signal before merging... she won't be able to see me, and I won't be able to see her, until she's totalled her brand new car, and she's at fault.

Something else to look forward to. (I say "she" because last I knew, men didn't drive these little crossover-things unless they were over 60.)

I'm a sixteen year old looking to get a new CR-V as my first car, and I want to modify it. I have no money, so I can only buy performance parts. I'm thinking some stickers, and a flying buttress.
I saw an article on Jalopnik about front wings- do you think I should put one on my CR-V.
Also, because it is a 4x4, how would a thirty inch lift and 44" Super Swampers look? Do you think they will interfere with my performance parts? (You know, the stickers and the flying buttresses)

This looks like it was copied straight from a Hot Wheels video game. If I had mad drawing skills, could I just pull a car sketch out of my butt, slap the name of a popular car model on it, and send it in to a car mag as an "insider" design? Does anybody check this stuff out?

Concept illustrations always exaggerate the details. If you believe this picture represents the design direction for the actual vehicle, then we should expect to see some of these design elements incorporated into a more normal SUV shape.
