Koni Challenge Series, Speed GT Series, FIA GT3, its own spec racing series, NHRA, NHRA funny cars, now NASCAR.
Since Ford does build so many Mustangs, I don't think it did the Mustang name any harm.
This is a good thing.

It's a laugh that NASCAR refers to the mechanicals as "The Car of Tomorrow"... which is just a 1960s design with improved safety and designed for lower cost.
You can't even get an OHV engine in a Mustang anymore. Nor can you get 4 speed manuals anymore either.
And to keep the speed down, they put in restrictor plates and do crap to make the car less aerodynamic.
Geez... if they want to slow down the cars, why not make them run on 87 octane (instead of a special 98 octane fuel) as a starting point... then maybe require that the cars pass California emissions... that'll definitely make the cars go slower. But that also means that they'll probably have to use a newfangled technology known as "fuel injection"...
If that's a Mustang, then we must have all moved back in time and it's 1970 again...

This rant comes about because I had a rude guest commandeer the television to watch Nascar when myself and other guests wanted to watch the Yankee game. He was watching it first, but still. I can't wait to go to his house.

I wonder when some fan boy will paint up his real Mustang to look like this, then realize that it doesn't look right because the graphics on his real 'stang won't look like these because this isn't a real 'stang.

Slow work day.....But since you mention it. Just make a call to the Aussies and ask them to send up some drivers and cars, if we are going to rebody some rigs for racing let's take some Holden's and Fords from down under and make them Camaro's and Mustangs and run some races that way.
