@bmoreDLJ: Five and O, baby.
But seriously: Vikings fans, old timers that is, know nothing but angst over the certainty that the Vikes will choke, it's just a question of when...So allow us our cautious chest thumping...knowing that we are one "roughing the passer" penalty away from going back to the basement. #dodgechallenger
The Dodge Challenger is, dare I say it, the only new car that can pull off purple without looking like a pimp wagon. On ANY OTHER car this shade would look completely idiotic. On this one, it looks absolutely brilliant. #dodgechallenger
Years ago, I was in my own Plum Crazy Challenger (original recipe), and was stuck behind an overturned semi on a long stretch of elevated freeway, with no way to exit. Traffic was parked for about an hour while crews worked to clean up the mess. A cop came driving up along the shoulder, to respond to the accident. When he was next to my Challenger, he stopped. Rather than reporting to the accident scene, he wanted to chat about how good that color looked on the car.
FC7 was a very popular color on the first-generation Challengers when they were new, and is an even more popular choice when these cars are repainted.
I'm not sure why Chrysler didn't offer Plum Crazy as a color option two years ago. If you are going to build the best-looking of the retro cars, you ought to do it in the best-looking retro colors.
Oh, yeah. That whole Cerberus thing. Well, at least they fixed the grille in time. #dodgechallenger
I like the color. One thing that has been lacking in many color pallettes for most vehicles has been bright and exciting colors. The roads today are awash with so many dull greys and tans it would be fun to actually notice a car because of its color again! #dodgechallenger
@pauljones: I get it. You're funny. This Challenger is PURPLE!! They are wrong to call it plum. This is the WOPCC (World Official Purple Color Chart). #dodgechallenger
@GeeHalen: Me, me! Head over to allpar.com and click on their Charger link and you can see a couple somewhat crude renderings based off camo'd mules. I have high hopes for the new Charger, it could be my next car. #dodgechallenger
That is what the color sheet was missing. Make mine Plum Crazy, please. With a T/A hood out of the mopar catalogue. And one of them new 6.4 liter Hemis. #dodgechallenger
@pauljones: Thanks for that image; had it not been for the Hausgemachte Ravioli for lunch, that would have made my afternoon. I'm being held hostage (read as on business) in Germany and I can't do random Mopar searches. #dodgechallenger
and without a legend, the graph shows that the one in the middle sold less than the one on the right, but WAY more than the one on the left... whichever those are.
@TAInvestor: Well, the Camaro is the blue bar. Not following American car news regularly and already knowing the sales numbers, I couldn't tell you if Ford or Dodge is doing better.
Well, I said this before, but it needs to be repeated. These numbers have very little to do with demand and everything to do with production. Peak manufacturing for the Challenger is about 2,500 units per month, so they will never sell 6,000, 7,000, or 8,000 units per month like the Mustang and Camaro.
@GreenN_Gold: I still like that Challenger best- always have, despite what it lacks. Someone once mentioned it was meant to be bigger and more comfy to drive. I dunno. The styling is there, but it is a bit heavy.
I kinda thought Daimler took a shortcut by downsizing the 300/Charger platform to build this, even though the lines are beautiful. Makes it more of a Stallion than a Pony car. Camaro, right now, has the edge after so many years offline. And its grille needs to be tweaked a bit. Still, all three are wonderful, updated renditions of their forefathers.

All they have to do now is get the 6.1l into the R/T, and it'll be perfect! #dodgechallenger
