Sounds like a nice engine, but these are just words. And considering Chrysler's bread-and-butter products are in desperate need of revamp, this seems akin to a kid playing GT3 A-Spec instead of doing his homework, which is fine...you just can't expect good grades.
@bmoreDLJ: Its really not a big deal for them to do this. They already make this engine as a crate motor. They could then discontinue the 6.1L line while rejuvinating hype for the Challenger.
There are probably a lot of guys who'd trade in their '08 SRTs just to get the bigger motor.
@Scandinavian Flick: It does not look like ass. In Hemi Orange, it is the best looking of the pony cars. It may have a big ass, but sometimes, a little bit of booty goes a long way.
As for the handling, well, I can't pose much of an argument. It doesn't handle as well as the Camaro or Mustang, but it is more than competent.
@pauljones: Looking like ass is subjective. I personally think it is hideous. From what I am noticing in comments and reviews, it is commonly refered to as the least attractive of the pony cars to most people. I can't argue opinion though, and it's obviously an individual preference. Just stating mine...
The handling is impressive for what it is, but since it is outdone by the others in its class, it is inferior. I doubt adding a larger motor to the front is going to help matters, and I don't see anything about suspension compensation. We'll see. I'm reasonable, and will withold judgement until I see it in practice.
@Scandinavian Flick: Every review and comparison I've read has been of the opinion that the Challenger was the best looking of the three on the outside, but the Mustang had the best interior.
@pauljones: I definitely believe the interior. GM and Dodge are not known for quality interiors, and Ford has seemed to step up their game in that respect. I wish more companies would. The interior is where the driver spends the most time, and what they have to get a feel for the car. Why would you ever want a car that surrounds you with cheap?
@Scandinavian Flick: Agreed. Though I love the Camaro and the Challenger, I would probably get a Mustang over the other two simply for the sake of the more pleasant interior.

@RLJ676-LS3 Commuter Car - for the environment: I admitedly have not sat in many newer Chrysler vehicles, but the few that I have, I was not impressed. Unless they have improved in the last three years, I stand by what I said.
Generally, I would agree with you, but the Camaro is the worst interior GM has built since the bad days of the early 2000s. It's really that bad. Have a look.
@dal20402: Oh, is that what he was saying? Man... yeah, I wasn't particularly impressed by the Camaro's interior either. I would think that, being a flagship car, they would give it their best effort. I hope they didn't...
@TheSwagger: I don't think it would be that costly. A Viper is around 85k, this wouldn't be that much. And even if it was, gray haired, nostalgic old men would pay for it.
This is perfect for me, since I do most of my daily driving on salt flats and dry lakes, and have more than a quarter mile available to make U-turns. I hope the AC is fully charged.
Outrageous. You've got to admit it, these guys had brass balls. I can just imagine the sound of that Hemi, right behind your head wound tight and about to grenade. Suspension? Nah, just adds weight. The seat? Just something to strap your butt into. Windows? All you need is to align this rocket with the black stripe painted on the salt. I bet Mr. Johnson wore a pudding pot helmet and a wife beater when he set the record. Nomex? Not invented. Tires? I'll bet they're bias ply. These dudes were something else. Nice Price for a piece of American History.
While this sort of pricing is of course far out of whack for anything you'd actually dare pilot about the neighborhood, it's rather a moot point here. This is a piece of history, more like a museum artifact than a car. My tendency would be to say Nice Price, however an authority on the matter might be able to set me straight on that.
Obviously something you'd never actually drive around (not being street-legal kind of prevents that), and probably not something you'd ever actually take on the salt (unless you like risking destroying a half-mil car for 3 minutes of speed).
But for something to show off in My Own Private Gallery, complete with trophies and a body made from a WWII fighter's fuel tank (!!), totally nice price.
Seriously, a used fighter plane's fuel tank. How awesome is that?

Hopefully, they'll shave off some weight with an aluminum block, like the 2011 GT500 is rumored to get.
