While this is a truly awesome way to completely waste $283k, I wonder why the BMW V12? Did he just want a V12 quad, or did he wreck his 750iL and felt the need to put the engine in something a little different? I also notice there is no good spot for a license plate in the back, this is an unfortunate oversight.
@cougfan335: Remember the videos of the shifter cart running around the interstate ramps? That wasn't street legal either and it was totally full of awesome.
I would much rather have the STI-ATV. That thing just plain looks cool, and it is powered by an engine with a reputation of kicking ass in rally racing. It also reminds me somewhat of a Halo Mongoose.
Anything with more than two wheels isn't a motorcycle. Quads and trikes, since most of them don't lean, can't be ridden very hard without the G forces ejecting the rider. The whole genre of vehicle is assinine. Try driving your car while sitting on the roof or hood and see how hard you can take a corner without falling off. Wait... better have a friend do the driving.
This new trend of fenderless rear tires on motorcycles and things like this give me the heebie jeebies. Can you imagine what would happen if one fell in between the tire and frame at speed, wow what a bloodbath. Plus the rocks, nails, dead dog parts, pulverized possum pieces and other road shrapnel being thrown at the back of your body wouldn’t be very pleasant either.
Other than that I like it,…. unless it has that Bimmer eight speed transmission.
@Flathead Smith: yes...but you are missing the point...they are TOYS, not to be actually ridden on real roads by real people. Me? I replaced the trimmed rear fender on my bike with a new OEM one...so I don't get as much water spray when I ride in the rain :)
I really want to hate this, but I can't. The price is a bit much, and it is probably all but undrivable. The rding dynamics of a quad never seem to feel right if you are used ot a motorcycle, and you could probably only sneak that by the DMV in a handful of states.
But I'm a big fan of bat-shit-crazy, and this has it in spades.

This thing is likely far more usable than the Tomahawk.
