    I think it's great.

    Unlike the latest attempts at recreating the Trans Am, this actually doesn't look like a satirical caricature of the original.

    I also like what they did with the interior; a little bit of color contrast goes a long way towards making an otherwise painfully bland interior a more interesting place to be. They can keep that shift knob, though.

    This could have been executed a little better, but I'm glad someone had some fun with it. These images look fake for some reason, and the seats are also different in pics #1 and #9. I guess some of you have seen it in person, though. #dodgechallenger

    I had an opportunity to buy an original about 24 years ago - just $3500. The guy had died and his wife just wanted the car gone.

    I had $3500, but I also had out-of-state tuition. I've been kicking myself for 24 years. #dodgechallenger

    @Elhigh: Ah. Good old death induced whole sale. One of my friends got a 79' Trans Am for like a couple hundred like that. Or was it just $100, I don't remember. #dodgechallenger

    Here's a flash: The government is not going to take away all your vehicles and force you to drive these.

    I can't believe the haterade here. It's just fun---these cars were always for specialized tastes and you don't have to buy it, go near it, or even look at it. They are just playing with the styling to see what happens with the old Daytona get up.
    We should be glad that someone is making amusing big boys instead of tweaking wee jellybeans. #dodgechallenger

    That's a 'Bird nose. And they obviously didn't read the reason for the scoops over the front wheels were for tire clearance.

    @skaycog: It'd definitely be a challenge to Heide that front end. For me, the body kit spoils the whole look of the car... not to mention the storied history of the Daytona. #dodgechallenger

    The front end looks more like a Superbird than a Daytona. Actually, with the pointed center, it looks like a Pontiac. The picture with the car alongside the white stock Challenger is very instructive - look what happens when you try to force-fit styling cues from a long, lean 1969 car onto a stubby, tall modern design. Very awkward. And this is before mentioning the fender-top blisters or the stuff on the doors. #dodgechallenger

    I saw this thing at SEMA, and all I could say was how hideous the thing looked. It was bad enough with the 200 or so Camaros, and the 150 or so Mustangs. But this Challenger took an already bloated and ugly car, and made it more so. #dodgechallenger
