Or maybe he was just dodging cops again. (Hat tip to Mike!)

<![CDATA[Gotta Stick The Landing]]> Citroen did not win the Rally Sardinia this weekend but Dani Sordo and Marc Marti did manage to put their car nose-down into the dirt, which is its own kind of victory.

Maybe when they noticed the "total" written on the hood they took this as an instruction.

<![CDATA[Spanish Bank Giving Away Free Citroen With New Account]]> Open a saving account with Spanish bank Banesto and they’ll give you a brand new, all-expenses-paid car. To qualify for a vehicle, a customer needs to lock between $26,400 and $235,000 into an account for at least 24 months, with the type of vehicle offered depending on how much one invests. For $235,000 and 36 months, you receive a Citroen C4 diesel, $175,000 a Citroen C3 and $145,000 a C2. Of course, there’s a catch.

Bank customers opting for the cars do so in lieu of interest. So you’re locking up to $235,000 away for three years with no growth. We’re also presuming the cars are leased, and need to be returned at the end of the two- or three-year period. So we’re not actually sure if this is a good deal.

Let’s assume you can earn 3.5% interest a year on your money. On $235,000, that’s $685 a month. A C4 diesel can be leased from $300-400 a month, we’ll assume another $200 for insurance, which still brings us in a little under that $685. Of course, the bank is probably getting some kind of bulk discount and doing the financing itself, so won’t be paying interest on its own vehicle loan. In other words, Banesto is making a healthy profit by offering cars instead of interest. Don’t have $235,000 to invest? Piaggio scooters are available to customers stashing away fewer Euros. <![CDATA[Aveobots, Roll Out: Chevy Takes Swipe At Transforming Citroen In New Euro Econobox Ad]]> Whether it's a C4 on top of a parking garage, the same C4 showing off a penchant for ice-skating or a Chinese man just looking to score with the ladies, Citroens like to transform. In fact, so much so they've already been made fun of once before in a faux ad for the 2CV. But now another automaker's getting into the act in a new ad from the brand all about the 'merican revolution in a commercial for the new Kalos-replacing five-door hatchback Aveo econo-box. That's right, Chevy — the very last brand you'd ever expect to be knocking a badge for advertising their love of cars that transform into robots. We're guessing someone at Chevy's ad agency may have forgotten Chevys like to transform too — heck, they even have a toy version of the Aveo named "Swerve." Talk about the heights of hypocrisy. Unless Chevy's just making fun of Citroens for dancing. [via YouTube]

<![CDATA[French Cop Nearly Killed By Monte Carlo Winner]]> Sebastian Loeb piloted his Citroen C4 to his record fifth victory at the Monte Carlo Rallye on Sunday, and we think we know how he managed to shave some seconds off his total time. It takes a little team work, a little luck and a little willingness to take a few risks. In this case, Loeb had to bet that this French policeman was going to be quick enough to not get a colostomy from his Citroen. Maybe the Ninja rally fan became a French cop. (Thanks to Franzouse for the tip)
