Looks awful good to me. Perhaps Chrysler can back engineer a cheaper platform or retool one of its own to slide under the body. Or maybe Lotus has a very attractive fleet/volume program ready to go?
This could be very helpful to Dodge. They've had the Viper as the halo, and a lot of other stuff down in the wash clattering around. This could be the bridge they've needed.
I even bet some he-men would be willing to be seen commuting in this.
I am not against Chrysler providing Lotus with production capacity so that the English brand can provide a more cost-effective product to an eager American market.
It's a good looking car to be sure, but somehow (wonder why?) it just doesn't look like a Dodge. Which is perhaps why everyone seems to see this as a transparent attempt to get on the EV wagon (and the gravy train that follows) by throwing few starter motors in the engine bay and a Dodge sticker over the Lotus emblem. And I mostly agree. But if they can pull it off, more power to 'em.
I personally think that there probably isn't much of a market for high-end electric sports cars, and what market there is will probably go to Fisker, but maybe if Chrysler can make it better and cheaper they'll have a competitive product.
Good thing this time uncle Daimler isn't around to say nein (remember the ME-412??)
The viper program is no longer, the ev europa (aka circuit) has already been shown to be faster than the challenger srt8.. a six figure pricetag replacement for the viper that just happens to be electric isn't really that much of a jump.
You know, surprisingly enough, that's probably the best interpretation of the Dodge crosshair grille yet.
Still, an interesting one-off for a dying company. Expect it to go for a shitload at B-J in a 50-year-later "Chrysler Retrospective: What Could Have Been" theme show.

Ray: I wouldn't hold your breath for pretty flowers. If the marketing team at Dodge is at all competent, they snatched up the domain names they wanted on Dec. 18, 2008.
@Bumblebee: wow - Did you just use the words competent and Dodge in the same sentence? Someone should alert their PR department - they need to make use of this.
@B_Hydяa: I'm not inclined to attribute incompetence to all large corporations, as they are made up of many small teams.
A lack of communication between those teams could result in the appearance of incompetence, but the failure is on the part of the person who should be communicating and isn't, and not each & every person who works there.

It's called a halo vehicle, and again.. love it.

I really would make the leap between assuming "large corporation" and "competent" go together hand and hand.
Unless its "large corporation succeeding despite several areas of gross incompetence."
