It seems primarily just a lot of delicate electronics that will be prone to bugs and failures. When the system gets a little wonky (because it's a lot moire than just a video dashboard) will I be able to drive at all, will it go into a limp mode, or will it ignore itself?
A few of the features - like charting a fuel efficient trip might be useful. Others, like helping people put their cars on Facebook seem counterproductive or simply dangerous. Too bad it looks like Chrysler's future doesn't include cars built for driving.
And no, we don't need the Orwellian nightmare of cars that keep track of our every move, ready to tattle to the dealer or the police. It's bad enough already.

Looks like a smart phone, except less safe and impossible to upgrade.

How many accidents will that thing be accountable for?

Don't get it.
You're right about the gauges. Her New Beetle has the giant speedometer, with gas and tach in the lower corners; my Volvo's got a huge speedometer and a huge clock, with the little gas gauge, etc. off to the side. Either layout is preferable to this.

"How do you know when to change gears?" I asked him.
"Oh, I just listen to the engine."
Wow, I thought. This guy must be awesome.

I'm afraid I can't let you do that, Dave.
