Apparently, Jalopnik memes translate well into Hungarian, 'cause there is definitely some dragon action going on at the Bangle butt of the Z4 in this picture.
@The Kid: While I happen to have a fashion designer friend who's had the Dragon Miata scene printed on a girly tee, complete with Swarovskis for dragon semen, rest assured that the ungainly bumps are no more than Mr. Bangle's design language translated into my kindergarten level Crayola skills.
"It must be said of Alex that when he was twelve, he extracted the lens elements from his uncle's 500 mm Minolta telephoto lens and used them as skipping stones on the pond by their house."
The Phantom is not a car. Not even a boat. It is a place. Not a capsule, a bubble enclosing the human body's every contour down to the millimeter, but a place. It has a horizon, parallels which meet in infinity, it has non-Euclidean geometry. To compare it with the human body would be to compare a flu virus with the Horsehead Nebula. It is a cave whose ceiling cannot be lit by even the most powerful floodlight. One can be swallowed in the space behind those C-pillars to plan wars, to describe worlds, to cross time and space incomprehensible to the human eye.
I saw a newish bmw on the highway yesterday, following a transport that had oversize crates on it, meaning the BMW was a chase car and had the yellow flashing light and a big sign on it's ass that said "wide load"
Immediately the idea of 'flame-broiled surfacing' came to mind. Or the art of rubbing cheese burgers into the ass end of cars until your baby got back.
That story was a mess that confusion would be proud of. If I even had time to read it all, I am not sure I would want to. Reading that story must have the same requirements as watching the Wizard of Oz while playing The Dark Side of the Moon
I prefer something a little more high class for my artwork than rudimentary drawings etched on construction paper with coloured wax by some wiggle-toothed Junie B Jones connoisseur.
Like this BMW that is plotting to eat your soul if you stare at it long enough.
Everyone knows Bangle's design method was drawing in his own blood, slightly diluted by his own dribble landing on the design board from chewing his own tongue.

For that line alone, I approve of this story.

Hey, let's go play with toy cars!

i think his designs are aging really well, which i think is testament to forward looking design, for example the first of his 7 series is great!

I think his designs have been hit-and-epically blow it ("miss" is too kind).
3, 5 = pretty good
Z, 1 = meh
6, 7 = epic fail

But hell yes, the 5-series Touring is by far the best of the Bangle cars. I'd drive on right now, any color except black.

According to BMW's site, you can get an 535xi with a proper 6 speed.
That's essentially the Legacy STI that we'll never see here.

*No crackwhores were harmed in the making of this. Only the cars.
