I have seen this car in person, from the hand made windshield frame to the covered over disc brakes and can say it definately is a one of a kind. I too don't like the checkerboard firewall but I don't fault Foose for including it. It simply makes the car stand out amongst a sea of other hot rods.
That's a pretty damn cool car, but I don't know if it's worth $75k. Do you think that the price is mostly due to the association with Foose, or did that much money really go into it?
I remember seeing Kris Elmer's Green Grenade (middle car below)on eBay sometime last year for about $30. Maybe not as shiny, but you can tell that just as much care was put into it as the Foose car.
@Papercutninja: Looks like only most of the body. That's fairly common in hotrods: you put this frame with that body and another motor and trans, sometimes all from different manufacturers.
Of similar shows, Overhaulin' was the worst premise, but had the best results.
Pimp My Ride at least didn't seek to cause distress in the interest of manufactured drama, but they would have just Bondoed the hell out of this, and added 23 televisions.
Later seasons of Overhaulin' had gotten rid of the theft premise, and that made the show much, much better.
Focus on the build. That's why we watch.
I honestly don't know if they could build a car nice enough for me to forgive them for stealing my car. That shit ain't cool.
Oh, I'd take the car, but I'd still be pissed as I drove away, smiling and waving at the camera.
@armyofchuckness: happens a lot. I saw a Nova they did and one of the Chevelles for sale a couple years ago at a car show. being OC based those cars were all over.
I remember once seeing an Impala they did for a dude and they made a custom baby seat for him too... nice ride, but sadly the pinstriping had some NOTICEABLE defects from not curing and such and it was crooked in spots... made me not hunger for and overhaulin' job as much.
