There's way too many edges on the front end of this thing. Maybe in black the rows would be less obvious, but at first glance it looked like a mutant, like the Family Truckster. #camaroz28
Every time I see the Camaro's tail, I think they were like "All done! Oh wait, reverse lights..." *knocks tiny, square chunk out of clay model* #camaroz28
I rarely watch Leno-boring, dumb-but I do spend quality time at 'Jay's Garage', and can't help notice how personable, engaging, and just plain enjoyable a guy Jay is when he's discussing stuff that he's obviously passionate about-cars and bikes. He's smart, articulate, seems to have an encyclopedic knowledge of a huge range of motorized vehicles, from Stanley Steamers to early Harleys, he cracks off-the-cuff wise at the appropriate times, and just seems to be enjoying the hell out of these little video segments. Conversely, his nightly gig, in comparison, appears to be a 'job', a vehicle (you heard me) for a massive paycheck that allows him to accumulate his collection. Not to mention the auto-oriented swag that must be delivered in daily semi-loads.
I'm not saying NBC should paste together a nightly hour of Jay showing us his newly-rebuilt jet bike-but, hey, I'd be a convert. #camaroz28
These 'forward' hood vents seem to be all the rage lately. In other cars, I think they're there in most cases for aerodynamics - to evacuate air from under the car/hood and send it over the roof and rear spoiler - as opposed to engine cooling.
But why do I get the feeling they're on the Camaro just for 'looks'? #camaroz28
@Racin_G73 - dirt track legend (some day ... maybe): You said that the Ford GT is "another example of its use for 'go' rather than 'show'. I'm not quite sure what that means. Are you saying that it runs well, but doesn't look good? #camaroz28
@skaycog: Not at all! I'm saying that the nose of the car is setup to use air flowing through the grill and then up over the 'vents' to keep the nose firmly planted to the track. Resulting in "go", which was the motivating factor to include it in the car's design.
I can't think of anything on the Ford GT that you'll ever find me insulting, devalueing, etc. I lust for the GT-40/GT - old, new, gulf oil livery or not. I was trying to contrast non-functional hood vents which are purely for "show" and result in little to no "go" benefit and - in some cases - may actually steal power and/or aerodynamic efficiency. #camaroz28
Tasteful modding has to pick up the pace on these cars!
Of the four I've seen, fully 25% have had Lambo scissor doors. No, I'm not kidding. If a white guy could drive by that particular tuning shop and take a picture without getting in trouble, I'd do it. #camaroz28
I don't particularly care for the hood (Motor Trend's sketch, above, looks better), I do like the spoiler and the wheels, and naysayers be damned, I still think the Camaro is one of the best-looking new cars on the market available for less than $35k.
Chevy's been toying with my emotions for too long. They're like that one ex-girlfriend that you keep taking back because you think that things will be different each time. Things might just be better this time around!
Alas, it's the same old story. She cleans you out for all your money. She promises you fun times and she leaves you with gonorrhea. Then she teases you again with visions of what could be, and the cycle repeats itself. #camaroz28
"Following World War II, the word fascist has become a slur throughout the political spectrum. In contemporary political discourse, some adherents of political ideologies on both the left and right wings of the political spectrum associate fascism with their political enemies, or define it as the opposite of their own views. Some argue that the term fascist has become hopelessly vague over the years and that it is now little more than a pejorative epithet. George Orwell wrote in 1944:
"The word ‘Fascism’ is almost entirely meaningless. In conversation, of course, it is used even more wildly than in print. I have heard it applied to farmers, shopkeepers, Social Credit, corporal punishment, fox-hunting, bull-fighting, the 1922 Committee, the 1941 Committee, Kipling, Gandhi, Chiang Kai-Shek, homosexuality, Priestley's broadcasts, Youth Hostels, astrology, women, dogs and I do not know what else... almost any English person would accept ‘bully’ as a synonym for ‘Fascist’."

Am I making too much of this? Drawing a connection where there is none? Mis-understanding the purpose of those foreward hood vents? #camaroz28
