The proprietor is just exercising good taste in a somewhat fascist kind of way.
If it was my car-wash, rather than ban cars, I'd encourage certain car/drivers, such as the douchey kid in his Civic with aftermarket body kit and tail-pipe 5 times larger in diameter than the engine's bore size.
You know, the kid who'd pull along side an AMG Merc on a turn-pike pulsating the throttle on and off just like he was stroking his... (as he does quite often) and then he gradually pulls away as he floors it thinking he's top dog because he just beat an AMG.
THAT KID, I would let into my car-wash with pleasure. First I'd set the speed of the rotating brushes from wash to warp speed and make sure I'd replaced the soft chamois like brush material with sand-paper. In fact I would pay just to watch that. #carwash
No, it's clear from the sign that they're banning "pickups Fieros." That obviously means they hate ElCamino'd Fieros, and regular ones are okay. #carwash
A few years back I encountered a car wash that specifically and solely prohibited Pontiac Grand Ams from using the service. My guess was that it had something to do with this. #carwash
HA! I didn't even see Fiero at first...but the description "Rear spoiler, overhead or side racks, non-standard accessories, body damage, loose trim, etc." fits a Fiero pretty well too! #carwash
Yet the EU diesel model of Honda Civic gets better gas mileage and lower emissions than Toyota Prius, sans the lead-filled batteries that need to be produced and recycled at some point. Fail.
@wiedzmin: You're wrong on two counts.
1. On the UK Euro cycle the latest Honda Civic 2.2 CDTi 2.2 turbodiesel takes 5.1 litre/100km and 135 g/km CO2 emissions; meanwhile the Prius reaches 3.9 litre/100km and 89 g/km CO2. It's impressive the bigger Honda engine does almost as well as Honda's previous smaller diesels, but even though the Civic is a smaller car the Toyota is the one with better mileage and lower emissions.
2. The Prius battery pack is NiMH, not "lead-filled" (it also has a small lead-acid 12V accessory battery). Regardless, putting a hundred pounds of recyclable batteries in a 3,000 pound vehicle to greatly improve its mileage reduces overall emissions by many tons over the life of the vehicle.
I've been a drag racer with an LSD
And I rode bare-assed on top of my Harley
I even had a Quattro on the slopes of Pike's Peak
And man, that was fun for a couple of weeks, but

By those standards, the Brick currently /doesn't/ qualify, because the battery's out for a trickle-charging.
