@emg77: On ours, which is only a 72 foot track, we had to add a couple booster wires to various places of the track. Plus, it's powered by a G-gauge train transformer..., no way a standard slot car "power slot" would do anything close to that. #mercedeseclass
I want Technic to re-release a larger-scale Seven or something mid-engined with lots of functional parts so I can learn about assembling a car without dropping $20K on a Westfield kit. #lego
@Jeb_Hoge: see if you can find the 8880 "Super Car" kit. it's been out of production for over a decade, but it's a pretty amazing model. 4 speed tranny (or was it 3 + reverse?) 4 wheel steering and 4 wheel drive, pop up headlights, and a pretty intricate suspension #lego
@skaycog: The kits that realistically reproduce cars are amazing. Some of the newer kits are a lot more detailed than the ones i had as a kid. That one is really impressive. #lego
@skaycog: as a lover of legos and all things GT40ish......... will you please marry me? or at least move in with me and treat me badly until i finally leave a few years down the road? #lego
@günter macbeetle, codename: chrystlubitshi: I won't marry you, but I'll try to treat you badly, if that's what you want. How badly do you want to be treated? #lego
@skaycog: hell, your not marriage acceptance is better than i've got in response in person. i think that if you acknowledge my comments/responses every once in a while you're over-exerting yourself.just continue to ignore me and post all kinds of awesome-ness and i will love you forever! #lego
no really.. i'm better at english than this... dammit...............

@günter macbeetle, codename: chrystlubitshi: I will not treat you badly. I try to treat everybody with respect. And, since you love all things Ford GT 40ish, I'll treat you with even more respect! How does that sound to you? #lego
@skaycog: well.. okay... i will be happy to share jalop/lego happiness with you as long as we can build models together.... ???? sound good? or maybe we can just get together and thrash out the cars we have.... (i know mine deserve it!!) #lego
Nice. I don't see many new pieces in that set. They did a good job reusing existing exo-force wings along with the popular slope parts used on most new sets.
Tank treads look wider though, hmmm, time to go shopping. #lego
The Hagglund is less cool than the snow groomer, esp. with cable winch. What else can shape tons of snow on 45-degree inclines and mow those same slopes in the summertime? #lego

I was sitting here at the bar, and when I saw this and was waiting for the main page to finish loading, I asked some friends if they remembered the Kenner SSP Smash-Em-Up Derby cars, and when they gave me a kinda' weird look, I said,
"Remember back when you were a kid, and it had that rip-cord thing that would get that wheel in the middle spinning so fast it would burn you?"
"Oh Yeah, I remember!! And you could just yank on it, and put the wheel on your friend and burn him!"
"And the pull-cord was great for whipping your sister!"
They were trying to remember the song, and were getting pretty close, but when this page finally loaded and I clicked on Murillee's vid, they all sang the song perfectly and loudly, like it was some Irish-Pub-Drinking-Song with one guy finishing the dialogue right to the"....'cheer" at the end!
Murilee, you made these guys day! Now they're talking about that little helicopter thing on the wire that flew in little circles on the top of the table........
I can't find them anywhere on the internet, but, does anyone remember the Matchbox cars that when hit, a spring loaded panel would rotate to reveal damage?
It might have been Hotwheels. I remember having one or two when I was very young.

@Prawo Jazdy and The Velocity Trumpets: Yes! I also had one that had a plastic hood that would pop open when the spring-loaded front panel would rotate. Probably still in a box at my parents' somewhere.

I'm surprised that even worked. There would be a huge voltage drop over 1300 feet of track.

(And yes, the little pull-cords were indeed good for whipping your sister. So was that orange hot-wheels track).
